The creepy house: Is it Brian's?
Origin of the creepy house

Look at Entry #20.

At 1:33 Alex walks round the corner to greet Tim.

It appears there are stairs just to the right near the door (same place as the creepy house in entry 18, 23 etc).

Also there is a door in the same place leading to that little closet and matching panels on the other wall... and the living room appear similar though you never see the windows because of the filming angle.

I'm telling you it is the same house!

Al

You know, I've thought this too. Everyone says it's Alex's house or just the house, but the similarites are too close.

Plus, the tip Jay got about the house said that Brian may be there. It could very well be because it was Brian's house.

What, people thought this wasn't Brian's house the entire time?! I'm pretty sure that 'the house' has always been indicated as being Brian's place. That's why it's so creepy that in #17 and #20 they have no idea where Brian went, and don't seem to care! They're basically in his place and he's missing!

Well in clip 20 they are definitely in Brian's house (Alex announced this at 0:4Cool. Also the corridor where Tim enters is identical to the corridor of the creepy house! Smile

I think what SickSlickMan meant is that people thought that the creepy house was Alex's house. I just pointed out that the creepy house in entries 18 etc (the messed up one) is the same one as we see in entry 20 (i.e. Brian's house). J doesn't seem to notice or comment on this though.

Well, I just never see it mentioned as Brian's house. Everyone either says it's Alex's house, or just "The House", but I never see it says it's Brians.

The wiki doesn't say anything either, which I think needs to be tuned up.

Yeah. To get back on topic though, its totally the same house. Which brings us to the question, who is Brian? Is he important, as seems likely (why mention a character whom you have no intention of including?) I suppose its possible that Brian is just a friend of the creators who just allowed them to use his house in return for a mention, seems unlikely though.

Hey dood Smile

No clue who Brian is... must be important tho we never see him.

Also u noticed how both Tim and J have coughing fits ONLY in that house?

Also... why does the audio cut out in entry #23 just as J walks into the house. That place is creepy!

Another thing I wonder is seriously why J doesn't make the link between the houses... he's been IN the house... but doesn't seem to recognise it from entry #20...

Well, we've seen footage from both "Alex's house" (videos of him walking around at night), and "Brian's house" (Entry 20), and I'm pretty sure OOG that they're the same house, but I've thought since Entry 20 that the house was Brian's.

I've never heard anything about the house/building in Entry 17 being the same place, though. Are we just assuming based on previous footage and locations?

Brian is one of Alex's good friends, and an actor that Alex had intended to include. We see him in #7. Brian is also a good friend of Tim -- the only reason that Tim was included in MH is because they shared a mutual friend.

Alex is seen in Brian's house presumably because he thought that leaving his own house and staying at Brian's would throw Slendy for a loop... but since it seems that Brian disappears before that, we can't be sure if Alex was hiding from Slendy, or that he was trying to suss Slendy out. Probably some of both.

Just because Jay doesn't mention something that seems obvious doesn't mean that he's not aware of it. I think that because it IS so obvious, he doesn't want to waste time pointing it out, maybe?

This thread should be merged with the game discussion thread, by the way!

On the subject of the coughing fits, they also occur in the interview with Tim. So I don't think they are exclusive to the house.

I don't think it is obvious, to Jay at least. He says how he heard from a tip where Alex might be. He also constantly refers to the place ambiguously, as if it was just a random house. I seriously think he doesn't know.

Ahh ofc they do. I forgot about that Smile

I think people assummed it was Brian's house because the anonymous source said Brian could be found there? IDK. (sorry if someone already pointed that out I skim read cos I'm tired)
