I wouldn't be surprised if there was spec... But I'd be VERY surprised if she was the candidate. She just doesn't fit the description personality wise. Somebody like the girl they're talking about wouldn't have been thrown off balance by the stupid_cop's antics. And the heavy accented pie lover left his job for a Professorship, which says "University" to me... Jan is 17.

No way it's the same girl.

PS. I'm surprised, I haven't actually found any SPEC at all on the candidate file, particularly relating to Jan being the candidate. So, since this isn't really the thread for this I've started a new one in updates here.

 		For some reason, I feel that the Princesses' clips are not directly realted to Melissa's clips. SP is showing us something hidden. Giving us information to help us fool Melissa. Did we know about the Apocalypso before the hello/good bye thread? What is she slipping us now?

EDIT: I did post this twice. Realized this was a better place. Deleted the other one. Sorry.

Can't hear anything myself. If you write down the bit of transcript that you can hear, with the reversed word in there, (just a sentence or so, no need to write out the whole thing!), that'll help me place exactly where it is you're listening and hopefully I'll be able to tell you what it says.

Right before the non-accented man says "You said you had a recruit." It sounds like a small distortion, maybe too small to be a word. No matter how many times I listen to the normal ilb .wav, I can't seem to find anything there. Either my file just has something wrong with it, or maybe it is in my head. If it is a word, it is no where as clear as "connection" from the changeling-child.wav. But someone else listen, see if you can hear anything.

How does being 17 necessarily prove that? I went to college at 17 myself. My HS graduation was 3 weeks after my 17th birthday.

Not trying to be rude, confrontational, or defensive, but it is annoying when people make assumptions based on age. We already know that Jan is "gifted", what's to say she didn't skip a grade or two?

Edit: Though your other points ARE good ones, didn't want to forget about that.

 		Did anyone notice that harmony is live? I searched around but couldn't find a transcript. I just listened to it, and I'm not sure who's talking to who, but the conversation definitely takes place during the Covenant war.

(Trout away if I just can't search right--it's Friday afternoon so my brain is shutting down.)

 		Harmony transcipt, as I hear it. Young is the younger sounding guy, Old is the older sounding guy. I think both are the ones from the first four recipe3 .wavs.
Young: Oh.
Old: Some accident involving a bus. Unluckiest thing in the world.
Young: You don't think... even if there was something important on the Apocalypso. Something crucial to the war effort?
Old: Like a new piece of Covenent technology capable of crippling an entire solar system's C&C channels.
Young: Although, if you're right about Troy...
Old: Then Harmony, Harmony's the instructive one.
Young: Ohh... What are you going to do?
Old: Under the circumstances... (gulp) I think I'll have another drink.

The conversation at that point goes:
old: I got too old for the game...
young: *sighs*
old: ...and I was younger than you are now.
young: You said you had a recruit.
old: a mouse (etc.)

I personally can't hear anything in there that could be a reversed word. Think it might just be your copy of the file. *shrug*

On another note (possibly D#) it seems that the SPEC about the Apocalypso causing the blackouts noticed in the links.html axons is correct, [spec]and it caused the blackouts because it was carrying the cylinder mentioned in the Operator monologues[/spec].

So what is Harmony?

Enable rampant-spec:
Harmony is another AI...possibly the SP?
Danger! rampant-spec error: Lack_of_evidence exceeds prescribed levels. Shutting down...

 		oh, and perhaps it would be a good idea if we DIDNT try to say every new character we encounter is actually an AI, or Jan, or Kamal's sister, or Jersey's dad.

I say we make it policy that each new character is assumed to be unique until proven to be the same as somebody else.

Although I would keep in my noodle that Harmony could be the old guy's AI and the old guy is actually admiral standish. I think this may come to light if we get all the secret roads connected.
