/me steps up on soapbox...

Really, what importance do you guys think the badges will have? I can understand someone asking for an unused code, if they *attended* the Encom event in SF. But why do the rest of you want something you didn't earn? I'm getting a bit frustrated with all the "I wants or get mes "...

/me steps off the soapbox Move along and have a nice day. Smile

Hello everyone,

I have been reading the post for quite some time now. I decided to register because I need some advice. I created my encom badge on March 13th and I have yet to receive it. I used a normal picture of myself from the shoulders up standing in front of a white background. I checked my address and it is correct. Is this too long of a wait or should I give it more time? Is there anyone that I could contact to inqure about my badge?

I don't think the badges will matter personally, the odds of getting them all are pretty high. That said, I was only asking for Gridlock because I actually attended but whomever picked up the wallet in ATL was gone by the time I got there. It was more of a way for me to keep track of the events I have taken part of than anything else, but I'm not actually crying over it or anything... Wink

It's the value of swag... generally we ARGers love the experience, but fanatics and franchise fans and what not - there's value in them swags! Especially if it's free, but exclusive and rare... I think both perspective are important, at least promotionally speaking.
Personally, I don't have a problem with fans who want to collect swag they didn't 'earn', but I just hate when people simply try to make money off them... wanting it because of the connected experience is one thing, wanting it because of its inherent subject value is one thing, but wanting it only to leech funds off the former individuals is just cruel and wrong.
In the end though, as long as the stuff ends up in the hands of the people who want it most (rather, that possessions even out and people ultimately are happy with what they give and/or receive - be it money or swag). *shrug* /imho

im with 'thebruce' on this one. i know ebay can stop certain auctions. kinda wish disney/42E/whoever would make a deal with eBay to prevent all sales of viral campain swag.

I've tried twice now to submit my son's photo, and twice they've rejected it.
I don't know if they're thinking I'm trying to get two badges, but my son's name is the reverse of mine (my first name is his middle, and my middle name is his first) and we share the same address-I don't know why they've decided to not let him get a badge.

There's nothing in the sort of "rules" that say a nine year old cannot participate, and as by proxy he's become almost as interested as I am in Tron I'd hate to tell him now at this point "hey, you can't do this with me because someone, somewhere, decided that you don't get to play"

I've been having the same problem with my boys. I can't even get FlynnLives.com to accept them and let them sign up for a screen name. I get this every time: "WE APOLOGIZE, BUT THIS CONTENT IS NOT AVAILABLE TO YOU AT THIS TIME."

Is there anything anywhere that says that children can not participate? I mean, for a PG rated film, why exclude children?
