Just noticed "The Equation" is no longer available on Amazon. Not even listed anymore. Hmmm.

Well, Shirley Films, I appreciate your encouragement and advice. I think I did dive into these puzzles with too-high expectations. And you're right: I don't think I'll have fun with them at all if I don't relax about it! After all, there's no deadline...

I have noticed that the puzzles are no longer in stock/not available at most online retailers. I bought them from a GameDaze store, where they appeared to have been sitting on the shelf for quite some time (long enough that I got a good deal on the whole set, anyway).

I have been to the website, which (you're right) is not well-constructed or user-friendly. The clues are what have been bothering me, though you have confirmed my thinking. Given a clue, I am left wondering a) which puzzle does this apply to (the one I'm on or the next one) and b) which part of that puzzle does it apply to (the physical part or the semantic riddle part). And while I love the basic conception (mechanical puzzle plus brainteasing riddle), I kind of wish the problem to be solved was a bit better defined and articulated.

But I will press on.

Thanks again,

Sir Real

That's pretty interesting. I wonder which parts are no longer needed. I also wonder how many have been pre-ordered. I just like to wonder about things.

CAN you pre-order the final puzzle? I haven't seen where I could do that...

I guess not. The website I was thinking of says "This item is a preorder item" but then has a "Notify Me" button instead of allowing a pre-order. My feeble memory was playing tricks. Plus I had to make a reply since I wasn't getting any notifications from this thread anymore. Don't know why. Nice to see some more people are getting interested.

Various clues

I am relatively new to this whole thing (just solved Davinci and the password) and I have noticed that people have posted several hints that they found "on the website." For Davinci, the only clue on the website that I could find was under "hints" on the davinci page and said "Ancient Roman Architect's..." I am wondering where people are finding the other hints, ie "Identify the missing figure and superimpose onto the puzzle. Follow the direction and rotate to success ". Does the hints page change over time? Are the hints hidden somewhere? Thanks a lot.

(ps. Forgive me if I posted this more than once. Still trying to figure it out...)

 Temple Password
Am I on the right track?

Hi all,
I've been on a winning streak for the last 48 hours (after Shirley helped me with the equation psw, that was so unfair grrrr).
Since then opened the Legend and got the password

Now the Temple well I managed to open it (more chance than knowledge).
The password is now bugging me can anyone guide me if I'm on the right path?
Here are my thoughts...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

- From the clue bark and lime I found link with Quinine, which aids against malaria. Is that the "Evil"?
- "Only 4 remain" - There are 4 types of malaria that infect humans??
- But can't think of "singular form" of it, single-cell organism??
- Also there are 4 puzzles remaining but can't see a link to Evil, bark, lime though.
- What about lath and lime plaster wasn't that used to build walls and ward off evil?

Well that's my thinking so far, what do you think?

Cheers

Flipside.

I suppose it makes business sense, not to need parts from earlier puzzles. You sort of limit your potential market unless they have bought all the previous ones. And not everyone would go out and buy the previous 6 first (like I have and import them to the UK, lol).

But wasn't that the point of this series?
It really feels like an adventure one leading to the other and then finally rewarded (hopefully).

Cheers,

Flipside

P.S. I just found this, a picture of puzzle 7!

Flipside,

If you really want help. I will tell you that you are not on the right track. Smile Of the stuff you wrote in your spoiler, the only bit that might help you is this:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
there are 4 puzzles remaining

This one is hard. Not impossible, but definitely hard. Use Google. And check the forums for clues. The best ones are already here.

This one is obscure, but not as hard as it seems.

What do the boxes form? It's a very specific one.
