Mysterious USB Drive

Secondly, if you notice at the bottom of that entry it states that it was posted April 1st. I don't take anything posted on that day seriously.

Right, but if you take a look back most groups received the envelopes that initiated this whole ordeal on Apr 5th. These were sent by snail mail, which means even areas somewhat local to Southern MD could take upwards of 2-3 days. Apr 5th was a monday so could it be likely that these were all physically put in the mail on Thursday April 1st. The snail mail timeline sure is there, just more speculation though......

I'm pretty sure it was just an odd coincidence. i only posted it because i didn't have time to read the whole thing and find out if there was anything substantial in it.

i saw that it was conveniently the bottom link on the page, titled "singularity", posted within reasonable time of the mailings, and talks about hadron colliders. that's all i got for it.
no, it does not link back to the gknova6 site, but neither does that somd site, so idk, thought it might be worth mentioning...

most likely though->complete waste of time... if so, i appologize.

Like this week I was executing a Google search on a link to the Large Hadron Collider that a Greek acquaintance sent me. This apparently ripped a logical time portal into the future that allowed me to downloaded the following scrap of a file. It seems to be a fragment of a log of communication exchanges between a bank of super-advanced artificially intelligent servers. Like almost everything else in computers, I don't know what it means, so I thought I'd post it here.

What an odd site you stumbled upon. From there it logs a conversation between androids in a lobster plant?..

Yeah, I don't think this is related. Confused

Hi, new here, wanted to just mention that gknova6.com seems to have updated again, not a new clip (yet), but clip 2 seems much clearer than before. (compare to the older clip)

The last part of the message clearly states 'You can see the whole spectrum'.

Interesting.

Most other sites have gone dry on this...

I have made a little progress on "You can see the whole spectrum". visit here: http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/jw/sound.spectrum.html

I have been playing around with the sound waves as seen on the oscilloscope on the gknova6 website but can not decifer any hidden messages.

I may be reading waaaay to much into this but there has to be a reason for both the spectrum comment and the presence of the oscilloscope above the TV...

My head hurts.

Google hidden messages in sound and I see a lot of mention about playing sound files backwards to find hidden masages.

Perhaps this is all a ploy by the devil to sign up gamers lol!

Myserious USB Drive

Ok, so I haven't gotten any help with the inaudible words uttered on the first bit of audio received in the envelop on the actual USB. This bit of audio appears @ 1:02 on that .mps, just after the man's voice says slowly "Don't Believe everything you see". I've been unable to get anything discernable from this, but it's quite obvoius that it's a man's voice.

Here it is, I've run it through noise filters, reversed it, slowed it down, changed the tempo and still this is the best I can come up with....

http://www.zshare.net/audio/750368696f026cb4/

Once again, to look at this in it's original form you can find it at 1min 02sec on the original piece of audio that was received in the envelopes...

Hi there all guests! I'd like to welcome you to the unFiction forums and encourage you to join up. It's free and we're a great community that always enjoys having new minds on puzzles. Very Happy

Just wanted to pop in and say, with "high profile" games like this, especially ones that have yet to have characters to interact with, it often comes down to a waiting game; In things like this, clues/leads/updates are usually pretty obvious. For example, when the PMs are ready, the storyline will likely continue very prominently as a puzzle through activation of a new button on the gknova6 site. I just didn't want anyone worrying too much that there's still something that we haven't found to move this shebang forward. That said, keep up the great research!

Mysterious USB Drive

Double posting so my apologies....

However, one thing that's painfully obvious and I'm not sure has been pointed out yet, is that "GK" (in www.gknova.com) could be a reference to G.K. Chesterton ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._K._Chesterton ) who has often been referred to as the "Grandfather of ARG's".

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_alternative_reality_games:
Quote:
"G. K. Chesterton's 1905 short story "The Tremendous Adventures of Major Brown" (part of a collection entitled The Club of Queer Trades) seems to predict the ARG concept..."

Not sure what the connection would be, if any. But thought that was interesting nonetheless and also a little bit curious that no one (to my knowledge) has pointed that out yet here at unfiction.com, the home of ARG participants....

I just wanted to add that the GKNova6 website could also a reference to the GK Persei nova discovered in 1901.

So, do I remain one of very few who think it's strange that there has been no updates to gknova6.com yet?

It's a bit of a stretch, but possibly the latest happenings at Infinity Ward might explain the lack of update? I wouldn't have thought it would have any impact on the marketing for either COD7 or Singularity (assuming those are the remaining possibilities), but it's the only thing that comes to mind.

Either that or we're missing something; I've assembled a list of as-yet unsolved clues (assuming they're really clues with significance, and not just filler or red herrings):
  • the garbled speech
  • the oscilloscope
  • the 8-bit tune
  • the blinking light (Can anyone confirm or deny that it spells out R-A-I-S? I'm not fluent in Morse and staring at that light is making my eyes water.)
  • the name of the website
  • the locations revealed by the somd.com announcement (assuming there's any hidden significance, that is)

Anything else?

The chaos at Infinity Ward has been going on for a few months now, well before this site came to light.
