 Marble Hornets Real Life
How has it affected you?

There didn't seem to be a place for us to discuss things like this, the rage thread is for raging, the where's my entry thread is for... well, raging!

I thought, particularly with the new entry, MH is one of the the most well known High Octane Nightmare Fuels out there and I know Slendy has crept his way into my subconscious. Also, its hard to start talking about this kind of stuff on uF without it appearing to be a rabbithole! So, I thought we could share the experiences we've had where Marble Hornets has made its way into your life.

So, I'll start:

You know when you're super tired - maybe you've been in bed for half an hour but just can't sleep. Well, when I'm in this state sometimes I'll hallucinate. I'm not awake, but I'm not quite asleep - I don't think its sleep paralysis and I don't think its quite a full dream - but usually they are quite vivid.

1) A few weeks ago I had one of these experiences. I was lying in bed (in my old house, I moved out about 2 weeks ago), there was a window next to my bed and one at the foot of my bed. Outside the window at my feet there is a roof which covers the dining room downstairs, so it is perfectly feasable to climb out and sit on there. In this instance there was someone there - I'm sure you can guess who it was! He was crouched on the roof, staring at me with his eyeless face. After a few seconds he slowly put his hand up and pressed it against the glass - then I snapped out of it and he was gone.

2) A couple of weeks later, the first night in my new place. I am lying in bed, pretty shattered (I'd spent all day putting up blinds and picture hooks - one of which held a big mirror to my bedroom wall). I looked over and in the darkness I saw a tall dark and thin figure in the mirror - his arms curled and twisted and seemed to bleed out of the mirror and down the wall. I blinked and looked again, he was slinking into the wardrobe which is at the bottom of our bed (the door is always kept slightly ajar cus we hang so many clothes over it!) and just like that he was gone.

I know both of these experiences were just in my mind, but they freaked me the *bleep* (apologies) out. I know they were probably caused by a combination of too much MH and the stress of moving out of the family home.

Has anyone else had any freaky MH dreams? Caught a glimpse of Slendy or Masky out of the corner of their eye in a darkened street?

Does your fear of Slenderisation prohibit you exploring nearby wooded areas? Have you been injured, tripped or fallen when it wasn't your fault? You could make a claim!...

There is a thread for this here, actually. Sometimes you just have to go back a page or two!

Yeah, I suppose they're not exactly the same, this thread's a bit more serious. Either way, Very strange Dream/hallucinations. I've yet to have anything that creepy. O_O I hope you have more luck sleeping in the future!

Occasionally wake up randomly in the middle of the night, weird dreams sometimes, can't sleep on the third floor of my house without thinking I'm gonna get slendified (because I have the entire floor to myself and it gets dark as shit up there at night).

You know, the usual stuff.

1. My friends have decided I'm going to be the Alex of our group, and I have subsequently supposedly gotten them all marked for Slenderfuck too. I showed everyone I know Marble Hornets when I first found it, and it's spread through my school. I'm notorious for being super paranoid all the time nowadays and constantly looking behind me and checking out the windows during classes. There's actually been a few times I've SHUT blinds before the class started because I was freaked out.

2. I have ridiculous amounts of terrifying dreams about Masky and Slenderman, and wake up freaked out. I've always had slight issues with insomnia/nightmares, but now all my nightmares are about Slendy and Company.

3. Yeah I catch glimpses of Slenderman and etc. out of the corners of my eyes sometimes and whip around to look and nothing's there.

It's always worst right after entries. XDDDD

I've started taking routes through my house at night specifically so I can flip on the light switches before actually entering the room, and when I go back I can flip the switches off after I leave.

Last night was particularly bad, though given that I saw 26 yesterday rather than Sunday that's probably to be expected. The house kept making weird noises; my cat sleeps in my room with me and HE heard them too, so I wasn't just imagining things. Pile that on top of waking up in the middle of the night half-paralyzed from sleep(I CAN move, but usually just one arm and it's really hard) with what felt like a pressure on my chest... well. It took me a while to be able to reach, but I put the light on for the rest of the night. Neutralb

Also, hooray for needing a title when posting a new topic; I almost posted this outside of the thread. << *learn2messageboard*

Hmm, well, MH hasn't affected my life, but drastic changes in my life have left me with emotional damage, thus causing panic attacks, anxiety, and insomnia.

Due to this insomnia, I usually stay up all night on Facebook and this forum, 1-3 hours being the average amount of sleep I get a night.

Due to insomnia, I have became way more interested in MH, and may in fact get some audio software and help analyze audio in future videos. (This is a big maybe)

I've always had issues with my insomnia, so it's become a useful tool for me on those nights when I realize it's better to just stay up the rest of the night than to get like 2 hours of sleep. Just think about Slendy and... boom! Every shadow is pure terror, endorphins in go-mode!

On a more serious note though, I've always suffered from an irrational fear of the dark and the unknown, so it's put me in a precarious state of mind, especially given the fact my house is right next to the woods, there's trees all around, and I can't see clearly more than a few feet away from me.

Also, the fact that someone's suggest he's a tulpa has left me traumatized for life.

I'm usually the last one to go to sleep at night in my house, and in the morning my wife typically lets me have it b/c the hallway light outside our bedroom has been on all night. I don't have a camera, so I don't think he'll show up, but any dark corner turns into a Slender-shape.

I have this machete lying around next to my bed, next to a bat too, mainly because I feel a little tougher with it there. So, yeah, my roommate/ex boyfriend is already asleep and I'm having some trouble sleeping.

Finally, after like half an hour staring in the dark, my eyes start to dose off.

I hear noises in the kitchen, in the bathroom, and then finally in our room. I look up a little into the darkness and I just see what looks like a tie.

I fucking freak, yell, grab the machete and impale it into the wall.

Arturo wakes up, turns on the light thinking there's a burglar or something...and I impaled my punching bag.

...so yeah.

Well, actually, on the plus side, my fear of knives has been replaced by a fear of Slender Man...and he's not real...

;D

I start getting nervous if I hear a song that sounds like Gimme Twenty Dollars.

Along the road by the building where I work, they're preparing the sidewalks to install parking meters. At one particular spot, there are apparently already holes in the concrete, and they were covered by blocks of rubber, and then someone spraypainted a circle around them and crossed it with an X.

Yeah. Circle with an X through it, on the ground. First time I saw it, I did a doubletake, and my heart literally skipped a beat.

I walk across campus a lot at night, whether it's on my way to my 4am radio show or between dorm buildings, and I always see glimpses of him.
I've also had multiple dreams about him. Nothing malevolent, though. We usually go out for fish and chips ^_^
