Article on ARGs that go into the past

I'm writing an article about ARGs that take place in historical settings, or that explore the past in some way. The article is for AMERICAN HERITAGE, a well-known magazine about US history. I'd love to talk with anyone who takes part in ARGs that go into the past, or who designs such games.
Thank you.

mag writer.. Last Call Poker, the ARG promotion for the video game Gun used American History, particularly the civil war and the settling of the western frontier. It was called Last Call Poker and it was history intensive, the most of any game I've played; but it was several years ago.

I will try to think of others and will post when I do.

I am sure many people here will help answer your questions. If you find you need more help you can contact me here. I'm not around here as often as I used to be, but I will help as much as I can.

There was also Levi's Go Forth campaign, which you can see at http://goforth.levi.com although it seems right now it's down. Until it's back up you can check over http://goforth.wikibruce.com

I wasn't as heavy following it, but you could also talk to Jan Libby about it, or contact Laura Hall who won the contest. I'm sure they'd have a lot to say about that campaign Smile

EDOC Laundry also dealt rather heavily with history as i recall (although repeating the refrain, i didn't follow the game.)

And although it's not an ARG per se, I know a lot of historical societies will put on interactive adventures...last year, I did one at Hale Farm and Village in Ohio where the group I was with got sold into slavery and then escaped along the Underground Railroad for the evening. A year or so earlier, they had a Mystery Day where visitors got to help in an investigation for missing gold (again, presumptively during the Civil War).
