[PUZZLE?] 40hz sound file

Could there be a hidden message in the 40hz sound file found on the update to urbanmythology?

I remember Aphex Twin hiding images in their songs, using the right visualization programs it comes out looking like this:

I've tried running the same visualization program through winamp, but I haven't seen anything yet. Any ideas?

As posted over here, in the update thread, I was hoping for exactly that trick until I actually downloaded the thing. But I made an image of the spectrograph anyway.

Anyone see the X-Files episode where gov't infrasound tests made people's heads explode if they didn't go west fast enough (or something like that...)?

Ahhh yes, good one! Episode is called "Drive". Actually ended up being some kind of low-frequency radar antenna that was found near the affected people's homes, if I remember correctly. Definitely an infrasound incident though...

I've taken screen grabs of what appear to be the blips in the wavs with unusual patterns. Could be nothing, and I can't see anything jumping out at me right away, but I thought I'd post see if anyone else can.

I don't have any software for dectecting anything hidden in a wav file. If anyone out there tries to desteg the wav and you need a password, try "never". Looking in the source code shows the story is written using italics except of the word "never". I figure it must be there for a reason.

it should be because the guy wrote in the email normally except he put italics on 'never' to emphasize it. it's common when quoting someone with italics to remove italics on emphasized words.

also, using 'never' on it with camouflage comes up short. never hurts to try though. Wink

Maybe this legend from the site is a clue:

"Medical researchers have concluded that the brain works via a series of electrical impulses. Therefore our thoughts, much like the processing of a computer, are in the binary mode of on or off. Recently a Kansas woman had a series of recurring dreams in which she heard a tone play in a particular rhythm over and over. After a weeks worth, she started to get a bit concerned for her sanity. Upon mentioning it to her son, a student at MIT, he asked her what the rhythm was. She told him, and he immediately realized that it was a pattern What's more, it spelled out "Pokemon". Later that night the woman spoke with her next-door neighbor, who mentioned that he had just grounded his 12 year old son because every night for the last week he had been playing his Gameboy under the covers after he was supposed to go to bed. The game? Pokemon.

It's no wonder that federal regulations require that you turn off all electrical equipment, including video games, when you're on an airplane. They transmit so strongly that some people can even hear them in dreams. "

I looked at the sound file in a wav editing program, and the blips are just where a 40Hz sound file was spliced (its all the same frequency, but the wave doesnt line up exactly like it should there).

I will try to figure out the exact length of time in each splice.

Between the start of the sound and the first blip appears to be exactly .25 secconds.

Then exactly .60 secconds between the 1st and 2nd blip.

.10 secconds between the 2nd and 3rd blip.

and 9.92 secconds between the 3rd blip, and the end of the sound (This could be 10 secconds if you include the slight amount of sound as the tone dies down)

I am going to check these numbers in a different sound editing program.

Just a quick observation.

Attached was this wave file. Pretty peculiar, I must say.

Might there be something to the fact that she calls it a "wave" file, instead of .wav, as most people do?
