Stages

I had really no place I thought this belonged so I decided to just make a new thing for it. It seems to me that in every SlendARG that the character goes through four stages. These stages are as follows:
Stage One) This is the stage where you are stalked and eventually become aware of such
Stage Two) Madness sets in and the drawings commence
Stage Three) Rationality returns to the prey and they start looking for a chink in the Slender Man's "armor"
Stage Four) Defeat: whether they defeat HIM, or HE defeats them, defeat is the final stage

So what do you guys think about this?
Also: If you are obsessed, chances are you fall under stages 1-3. What stage do you guys feel you are in? For me, I'd say #1.

They never do end up defeating him...so I would just make Stage 4 "Game Over, You Lose".

Me, I'd be Stage 1, because I haven't seen him yet, but I'm looking him up an awful lot.

Pff, I share tea and scones with him on a regular basis. Where does that put me? ;P

Joking aside, they are pretty cut and paste, aren't they?

I think what sets this SlendARG apart from the others is the notable lack of a stage four. We see our heroes survive SM in encounters that spell the end of nearly every other SlendARG. This fact alone makes SM in Marble Hornets 10000x more frightening - we have no idea what his intentions are, and it elevates him past mere monster.

Anyway, I like the idea of characters existing in different stages of obsession during the course of the game. I imagine it's a long winding path that leads to eventual demise. Alex almost made it to the end of that path, but quit cold turkey before being forced back into it. Brian...we don't know what happened to him yet, but he was probably in the final stages when we first saw him. Tim is flitting on the outskirts, staying involved but avoiding obsession. J is blindfolded and wandering down the path hoping to find where Alex jumped off.

There are still some going that seem to lead in that direction. However, they could also die randomly.

Pfft, he's clearly in crazy-town. Instead of drawing things, he's FILMING THINGS because he's so fancy like that! Either that, or he's just wandering around terrorizing Jay while wearing a mask... which also doesn't really fit in with those four steps to slenderfication...

He could be in the rational part. The mask may be just to hide his identity as to not get more people involved.

Rational? You know, I like Tim and all, but are you talking about the same Masky that the rest of us are? I mean,

I'd like to think he's more cryptic than crazy. You don't go dishing out free help without a price. In the time it would take J to figure those out, the Slenderman will have already reached check mate.
