I seem to remember Telos has a whole interchange with someone regarding "I"s and "L"s and "eyes".


Not sure what the eyes/etc. reference means, but I did compare the map we're given with various online maps of Great Britain. The most helpful map was at http://www.grimshaworigin.org/WebPages/LancEngl.htm ; you can make the map even bigger by looking at it directly (http://www.grimshaworigin.org/images/England/EnglandAll.jpg). Following the river that the dot is closest to from The Wash inland, I think it's the dot is in Bedfordshire and not over London. During a chat between Medea and Jason and me, Jason did say, "Now, to Bedfordshire..." (see this post). So...where in Bedfordshire, and what are we supposed to be looking for there? The tower where Claire was held? (but I thought that was in London) The Ministry headquarters, or at least a branch office, or at least some site of Ministry importance? (this makes more sense to me, as one of the other photos in the album has the caption, "Someone asked where the Ministry began - in one sense, here" and is about a location that Amandel found to be in Ampthill, which is in Bedfordshire.

Maybe the dot really is supposed to be Ampthill?

Hi Dreamer. The Ning map jpeg is saved as "Ampthill__Bedfordshire_dot" which is where "Katherine's Cross" is located. Have found numerous pics of it now. Smile Maybe the MOA has an historical connex with Catherine of Aragon?

EDIT: Claire's mentioning the Tower of London (below to Telos) & its connex to The Royal Astronomers which Poeas referenced are convincing enough that she has valid info and is likely IG. Cool

 		I didn't get the e-mail, either. Maybe Jason sent it to you "by accident", including you on something that was only supposed to go to active agents. It looks like not everything in this game is given to everyone, so we need to keep up the good work on sharing things...e.g., Telos and his e-mails with JPW, Sirannon being singled out by Poeas, certain people being point people for contact with Claire, etc.

Oh, and since the chat history doesn't stick around very long (I've sometimes stumbled across a few leftover lines I wasn't involved in, but usually the chat is blank), make sure you pay attention to anything that comes up in the Ning chat. It seems visiting the Ning automatically logs you into the chat, so don't leave until you've checked for any lines sent your way.

Edit: an article at http://parseval.wordpress.com/2007/03/08/ says the rotation of those wheels is due to "peripheral drift" and refers to that illusion as the "rotating snakes" illusion. Googling that pulls up this site dedicated to the illusion (though there are others): http://www.michaelbach.de/ot/mot_rotsnake/index.html The creator of the illusion is Akiyoshi Kitaoka.

 		Ok, looks like it was sent to me only. Nonetheless, I'd really appreciate you guys help on solving it - I'm currently swamped at work and I know I'm really busy for the next week even out of work time. I'll be able to contribute, but with our combined effort it will take half the time.


Btw, re: the comment about "now.. to Bedfordshire" comment - my parents always used to say, when carrying me to bed as a child, "up the wooden stairs to Bedfordshire".

Absolutely! Just because stuff is only SENT to one person doesn't mean that person is meant to be working alone! In fact, Jason is aware that Telos shares his correspondence with him with us, and I think encourages it...so, by extension, the PM absolutely intends us to work together. (Jason also made some comment I'm too lazy to look up discouraging us from keeping the game to ourselves, as he says that's how we were beaten last time.)

I'm thinking we will have to wait until an encrypted file goes up before we'll be able to test any possible passwords.

I started typing that into Google, and autocomplete gave me "Up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire" as a suggested search.

 		Thanks Dreamer, what is interesting about the image sent to me is that if you look closely you can see a number of red "tongues" protruding from the image. I think these are supposed to be the tongues of the snakes, considering it is the "Rotating Snakes" illusion.

Still, I suppose you're right - its all just speculation until we know where to use the passwords.

Also like I said before I have A LOT of time on my hands so if there is anything I can help any of you with you have my time and research skills (although how valuable that particular currency is I can't say lol) I to am trying to determine whether I should join the Ministry after the text from Vanessa. At the moment I am scared. James pointed out that John/Jean kept me alive for a reason and right now i'm worried that if I do join i'll just be giving the creep easier access. But we'll see. There may be a point in the future that my joining will help Vanessa, and I think that would have to be a risk worth taking?

The mentally bit refers to what characters did in the original game. JPW, VS and (after her training) V all seemed to be able to, with aid of their trick, communicate through electrical impulses. It's assumed this is a trade skill of members in the higher ranks of the ministry.

 		QUE, our most recent Ning jpeg, is tagged: "Monsieur Fourniment pointed the way". Monsieur Fourniment is actually ribald French slang. Believe in this context it's a critiique on Henry VIII's treatment of Catherine of Aragon or what some feel were his philandering ways in general. Explanation below:

Perhaps this is because you were the first to contact Aethalides (though Dagada figured it out)? Maybe we get moved to A status as we prove ourselves, so to speak.

By the way, the crew name list isn't updated as people get added...there are 2 names taken that are still listed as yet to be designated.

I'm irritated because I wanted to print off one copy of the poster on the colour printer here at work, but the school network has blocked Rapidshare. Sigh. Maybe one of you could e-mail it to me, or post it somewhere other than Rapidshare? Make sure it's the most recent version--the one posted on the Ning.
