After no calls since I received my Flynn Lives phone, I've gotten three calls today. They were clearly time-share robo calls; but this sudden activity on the site made me wonder. I did look up the number though; it's a known time-share company.

Could it possibly be located in Brazil? Wink

Seriously, if you dont want spoilers, aside from the very first post, u should probably stay away from the thread until you solve it yourself.

Then why does this forum even offer the option of spoiler tags? Oh yeah, so people can read the threads without a solve getting spoiled. Just ask any Mod, it's a generally courtesy around here.

ifmnetzwerk, don't worry about it. You did good work on that puzzle.

Thank you very much. I'm very good at research. Smile

And just to confirm what people are trying:

a) it should work like a regular combination lock then, right? So if you have the combo as X, Y, Z, you'd:
- rotate a bunch to clear, then rotate clockwise to X
- rotate counterclockwise PAST X, then continue to Y
- rotate clockwise to Z

b) what indicates a "choice?" The audio keeps playing while you hold your mouse button down, so is letting go necessary for an entry?

Don't forget to CLICK the metal U part of the lock to try to "pull" it down after the combination.

you'd think there would be a certain click if you hit the correct number, like any tumblers on a safe or something.

I'm wondering the same thing. It's been a long time since I've used this type of lock. There isn't confirmation on number choice so it's hard to tell if it's been registered.

To make a choice I would think you click the handle once you are done entering your combo. I just keep getting clunks. LOL.

Standard Master lock unlocking procedure is:

Step 1-Hold the lock with the black combination dial facing you. Make sure the numbers on the combination dial are displayed upright and are not upside down.

Step 2-Turn the combination dial three times to your right. On the third turn, stop on the first number of your combination code.

Step 3-Turn the combination dial to the left; go past the first number of your combination code one time before stopping on the second number of your code.

Step 4-Turn the combination dial to the right and stop on the third number of your combination code.

Step 5-Pull down on the lock; the top shackle should open. If it does not, make sure you are entering the right combination code and repeat Steps 1 through 4.

Before X, doesn't the lock come with instructions saying to reset or to enter first number of code, rotate clockwise three times.

Yeah, forgot that final part. I have been doing that. Just wanted to confirm that everyone is trying the same method of entering a combo. It may not matter, but that's how they work (KiltDaddy's instructions are better than mine).

Most combination locks I know involve the first number requiring two full turns in one direction, then one full turn in the other, then direct to the final number.

On a semi-related note: I know some of you are considering Flash decompilation. Don't bother... They're using Rijandel encryption on pretty much everything. And, if it is doing an external request to the server, it's not appearing in Firebug. These guys are good! Wink
