yes, this is exactly what drew me in and has kept me obsessed with MH. the ambiguity of everything. it could all mean so much or maybe it means nothing at all. one of the most mysterious things ive ever been involved with. i have nothing but the greatest respect for the creators. imagine what they could do with an actual budget.

Just throwin' this out here. Fairly sure someone suggested this before, but...

Something like this, maybe?

Yeah, the whole X-ing out of the camera lens has been brought up, and it's a fairly valid theory. Sadly it doesn't stop the character from carrying cameras everywhere Confused

In fact! Alex felt more and more compelled to record himself when he started seeing Slendy fairly consistently. Maybe that's part of the psychology of Slenderman, is that he makes you want to use the camera which, unbeknown to you makes you more vulnerable? But then that theory kind of goes back on itself because Alex has drawn the symbol before, and you'd think based on that you would inherently know its meaning.

Confused

I think my brain just exploded.

Moving on! In the break we have, maybe we should figure out the meaning of all the totheark videos? God knows we need to go back after learning what little we have. Or in actuality, what little we have speculated. I say we start figuring out the meaning of this video: http://marblehornets.wikidot.com/program-video

It's a valid theory, but I still think the symbol represents the Slender Man itself. I base this on the drawings that Alex made, where the symbol was the head atop Slenderman's body.

Thanks for breaking the silence. @_@ seriously, it was getting stale.

I totally agree, we need some forward movement on these TTA vids. Seeings as they're still rather cryptic, and wel still have no idea what they mean, collectively.

We've already distinguished that the Code stands for YAMA who is an entity that is considered to be the Lord of Death in many eastern cultures. There's also the mysterious "S" symbol watermarked in the corner is a character is the Sigma, which hold the last lowercase position in Sigma.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigma

the wikipedia article is pretty useless, but I don't know a tonne about the significance of the different letters of the Greek alphabet. Maybe someone else is a little stronger?

Also, Masky has a thing for the rain, does he not?

Yeah, that's true. It does seem to appear in the different areas he lurks in/around.

Regarding the circle-x, it could be that Alex saw the shape drawn on the ground in #13, and the Wall Full of Crazy that we see in other entries is him trying to figure out what the symbol means.

In regards to the sign that looks like a sigma... I don't remember too much about Chem101, but isn't the sigma sign used in equations at some point in order to denote a state of entropy? It could simply be a quick way for TTA to say that things are going to play out pretty inevitably, and what Jay started is going to follow through with consequences.

Ah, here we go.
(going to do Chem at uni next year)

The capital sigma (looks like a funny mix of a capital E and a Z.) is often used to mean 'total', as in, 'total entropy change' or suchlike.
Generally, S is used for entropy, as far as I know.

Although sigma sounds like an S, according to wikipedia at least.

Well, yes, "S" stands for entropy, but not sigma. But "S" is the English equivalent of sigma, so it's not too much of a stretch to say that sigma represents TTA and/or Masky, represents entropy (i.e. CHAOS!). And that analogy/representation seems to fit his actions so far. He has done a lot to create confusion and chaos

Crazy speculation here, but could YAMA simplay be an acronym? You Are My Ark? Just something that popped into my head while reading that.

Entropy can also refer to " A measure of the loss of information in a transmitted message." Which fits as well in some ways.

As I said, it's been a while! It'd be interesting if the symbol flickering in the corner was meant to represent those things. Though why in that particular entry, then?

As for YAMA, I don't know that it really means anything; I think that people are using it to draw conclusions when it in itself is a sort of leap of faith!

I still think Bleedmore isn't really more than Bleed More. Since I think it came right after a video where blood was shown, I forget which one. And it seems to me that that one is understood. The wiki article says otherwise, and I'd love to debate. Right after I take a walk so I can focus after all that computer gaming I just did.

Ok, I am a new user and haven't read through all 170 pages of this post plus the 300 from the last post just wanted to give a thoughts and if it has been brought up before I'm sorry

I don't know video numbers off the top of my head again I'm sorry

Alex wanted to burn the tapes before he gave them to Jay what if he has been noticing small things starting to act up again in his own life and wanted to try and burn them so he went and burned down the apartment that jay lived in or got in contact with someone and had them do it, I know this is a long shot but it give a little more reasoning to the apartment being burnt down it also supports the theory of TTA being Alex because of the "warning" video from TTA that says STAY HOME and BE ALONE in it, TTA has to know that Jay is bringing the tapes with him and wanted to get rid of both the tapes and Jay.

If TTA is Alex this might make perfect sense because if things just recently started acting up for Alex again he wants to get rid of both the tapes that must be starting it and the one who started it all over again

Now fire does also have something to do with the Slenderman Mythos

"The Slender Man was discovered at the Something Awful Forums in a thread centered around photos from a singular fire which killed many children in the '80s. He is described as wearing a black suit and black hat and as the name suggests, appears very thin and able to stretch his limbs and torso to inhuman lengths in order to induce fear and ensnare his prey. Once his arms are outstretched, his victims are put into something of a hypnotized state, where they are utterly helpless to stop themselves from walking into them."

also pictures of Slenderman were found after a library fire 1 week after some more children disappeared

so fires are there in the Mythos of Slenderman

sorry about the long winded first post just a thought i wanted to share

Wasn't it generally agreed that the "STAY HOME" and "BE ALONE" were taunts?
