[GRAPHICS] Flynn Lives Swag Index
A Visual Catalog of FL Swag: Lots 'O Images...You've Been Warned!

A cool cat over on the Tron Sector boards made a thread attempting to catalog the swag from Flynn Lives and I thought it was a great idea. That said, I've done my best to compile a visual listing of all the swag given out to date. If any of my info is incorrect let me know and I'll edit it. The only thing I think I'm missing is an image of the blue Flynn Lives poster. Guess I'll have to take a pic of the poster when I get home... Wink

So here we go:

1.) Press Mail-Outs:
Select movie-related web sites received packages containing a USB Flash Drive and Flynn's Arcade token to get the word out about www.FlynnLives.com

*USB Drive (Courtesy of...? Either SlashFilm , JoBlo , First Showing , Coming Soon or UGO . None of them have the original photo up anymore so I can't be certain):

2.) SDCC 2009:
Flynn's Arcade tokens and blue Flynn Lives posters were given to SDCC attendees. Online directions were found on Flynn Lives directing the public to meet up with FL operatives at a specific location. Those who met at the location were told of a scavenger hunt and were given a UV Black Light, a Flynn Lives Tee (with UV Light message), a map with overlay, and a release waiver. In the following days of the convention fliers were also handed out that gave directions to Flynn's Arcade.

3.) Flynn's Arcade:
Participants who completed the Flynn's Arcade scavenger hunt found the RL arcade and were given a golden ticket for entrance. At the conclusion of the event participants were given Flynn's Arcade tees.

4.) Zero Hour:
Several players who had signed up with Flynn Lives received mailings containing one of three plastic Bits; the "Yes", "Neutral" and "No" Bits respectively. The boxes for the Bits led to the online countdown to the Zero Hour event.

5.) Pit Cell:
27 locations given on the Zero Hour webpage went live and directed players to addresses where a package was to be picked up from a local FL operative. This package was a cell phone and charger with directions. Upon following the directions participants were led to their packages: A Tron wallet with 2 - 3 tokens, 3 Tron trading cards with achievement codes and several newspaper clipping printouts concerning Kevin Flynn and Encom.

6.)Pit Cell Screening:
After all wallets were retrieved and their respective codes entered 5 of the Pit Cell cities offered advance screening of the Tron: Legacy trailer. Participants were given online tickets to print for admission. Post screening attendees received a Flynn Lives tee (no UV message).

8.)WonderCon:
Flyers and directions were given out to attendees directing them to the Encom Press Conference. Online players were also notified via the Encom Intranet of the conference.

9.) Encom Press Conference:
Encom held a public press conference in San Francisco. Attendees were given waivers as well as Flynn Lives tees (no UV messages), Flynn Lives posters (Black posters, numbered 1, 2 or 3 in UV ink as well as extra Blue posters), a "Guest" Encom badge for those who didn't have a personalized badge, a Space Paranoids lapel pin and a sticker with a unique code to unlock an online Achievement Badge for the event.

10.) Sam Tracker Package(s):
Online players who helped Flynn Lives track down the whereabouts of Sam Flynn followed an online trail that ultimately led to the Space Paranoids Online landing page. On the landing page players could eliminate 999 Recognizers, unlocking achievements along the way. Within a week players who had helped find Sam received a package containing a note offering thanks from Flynn Lives, two stickers with Sam's "89" logo and a "89" lapel pin. If players also destroyed 999 Recognizers they received an additional note congratulating them on their score as well as a Space Paranoids lapel pin.

11.) Encom Postcard Mailers
First reported on June 30th, players around the world began receving postcards with artwork from the following vintage Encom games: ArcWars, Astro Gunner, D-Con 4, Kraz-Bot!, Space Paranoids and Vice Squad. The back of the postcards contained hidden messages that were revealed via black light. The combined hidden message led to the discovery of the Encom.jp page where players could play the Circuit Cycles game. Players who completed all 32 levels of the game unlocked four online achievements, with the final one revealing the URL for the Identity Raid Countdown. Within a week players who had completed all 32 levels received a full set of Encom postcards, including a seventh Circuit Cycles postcard which was only available by beating all the levels.

12.) Identity Raid/SDCC 2010:
On July 22nd SDCC attendees were directed via Twitter messages from Operation Tron to various dead drops around the city. Each of the 7 dead drop had 32 (Except the final drop, which gave out 33) packets for folks who arrived with pics of themselves with the Tron artifacts that were nearby. Each packet contained one limited edition Identity Disc that housed a 2GB USB drive and two bracelets for admission in to Flynn's Arcade that night. Each bracelet also had one achievement code each to unlock an online achievement.

That night attendees who visited Flynn's Arcade were greeted by a closed down arcade with covered games a la the Tron: Legacy trailer before being led to Flynn's workshop where they were "digitized" and arrived in the End of Line Club where they could interact with other visitors and actors dressed as programs. Thursday night visitors received a plastic coin pouch with Tron branding that contained a full set of arcade tokens, with one token for each game that had been sent out through the post card mailers (Minus Circuit Cycles). In addition attendees also received a limited edition End of Line Club poster as well as End of Line Club coasters that had partial codes for Hello Flynn.

The rest of the weekend a limited number of SDCC attendees could gain ComiTron Tickets to enter Flynn's Arcade by being one of the first 100 to visit the Disney Tron booth every hour. Some attendees who visited the booth and gained the ComiTRON ticket also reported being given TRON glow sticks. Flynn's Arcade was open for business at that point, with all arcade games uncovered and playable and while the End of Line Club could be visited it was without programs and visitors did not receive the limited edition End of Line Club posters.

Some visitors reported that they were given Tron: Legacy holofoil cards after playing and beating the games found in Flynn's Arcade. Visitors of the arcade on Friday and Saturday also reported being given a copy of the Tron: Legacy issue of Empire magazine.

13.) Tron Night:
On October 8th the Flynn Lives Facebook page updated with a puzzle that ultimately revealed the Tron Night 2010 webpage. Players were able to get tickets for select cities around the world to see 20 minutes from Tron: Legacy in IMAX 3D on October 28th. Those who attended received various items such as hats, cards, posters and even a limited edition Tron Night ElecTronica coin for attendees at Disneyland.

*****14.) Arcade Aid: Challenging Stage v.2.0:
On October 22nd FlynnLives.com updated with new messages on the FL message boards. Zack updated the Arcade Aid:Challenging Stage game with new game titles and released Arcade Aid: Challenging Stage v.2.0 for players to play. Players who successfully identified all 167 game titles were told to watch the mail for something from FL. On November 9th reports came in that packages were being received and were revealed to contain a congratulatory message from Zack as well as two pins. A total of four pins (Tron Sentry Guard, Light Cycle, Face Off and Punch Out) have been discovered, with each package containing two of the four pins. Also, the first 999 players to complete the game have received hand numbered Arcade Aid posters as an additional reward.

Around the same time the game was discovered several film sites reported that they had received pieces of perler art from Flynn Lives. The piececs were pearler representations of some of the game titles found in the Challenging Stage v.2.0 game and served as a reminder that the game was once again active.

*****15.) END GAME: Digital Pulse
After solving the GYGAX puzzle that was posted to the Flynn Lives mainpage on December 1st players uncovered the /Digital Pulse URL that had a countdown timer the ended on 11 AM EST on December 8th. Instructing players to seek out evidence Kevin Flynn may have left behind during his 1989 book tour, Flynn Lives noted that the event would take part in 16 cities and require ground and online support. On December 8th /Digital Pulse updated with the city locations/information (with two cities going live every hour) and a scrambled message that would be unlocked once all the packages were picked up. Operatives around the nation scrambled to pick up the dead drop and activate the "Node" Kevin had left in each city, thereby unscrambling the message.

The first operative to reach the coordinates given on /Digital Pulse found a sticker with a phone number and a tracking number. After calling the number and giving the operator the tracking number operatives had to wait until a package was delivered by Dumont Shipping. The package contained Kevin Flynn's book, The Digital Frontier, which had been hollowed out and contained four pages from the Tron arcade game manual. The book served as a code key that, when lined up with the correct page of the manual, gave the code to unlock that city's Node. The package also came with the signed waiver from Dumont Shipping with instructions from Kevin Flynn to hold the package as long as necessary until someone came forward with the tracking number.

Operatives were then directed via phone to a second location where they met with a Flynn Lives member with a laptop where they entered the Node code and received a FL tee shirt and FL pin. Once all 16 cities were activated /Circuit Pulse was discovered which led to the final puzzle and /Meltdown.

*****16.) /Electrify Advance Screening
Once all the Dumont Shipping packages had been received and the Nodes for each city successfully activated the garbled transmission on /Digital Pulse became clear and, once clicked, took players to the final puzzle of the game at /CircuitPulse. Players who successfully completed the final puzzle helped boost the signal strength of the side channel attack and sent out a pulse to try and contact Kevin Flynn. The resulting pulse caused a portal to open and left players staring into the face of Clu before the window closed and players found themselves looking at Alan Bradley's pager with a flashing phone number. Upon dialing that phone number players heard a message indicating the number was no longer in service before giving an error code (VGP2X9U229VL) and disconnecting.

Entering that error code into Kevin's private server at HelloFlynn unlocked the final achievement badge of the game, titled End of Line. Players then noted that the pulse from Alan's pager was Morse code which led to the discovery of /Electrify which congratulated players for playing and gave information on how US residents could attend a free advance screening of TRON: Legacy a week before the release of the film. Players who arrived at the screening received the Flynn Lives pin previously given out at the /DigitalPulse live event to the operatives who received the Dumont Shipping package as well as, of course, a free viewing of the film in Disney 3D.

*****17.) END GAME: End of Line Mailer
On Wednesday, December 15th, players who completed the /CircuitPulse puzzle and entered the resulting HelloFlynn code to unlock the End of Line achievement badge began reporting the arrival of a final package from ZackAttack containing the Flynn Lives pin that was previously given out during the /DigitalPulse live event as well as the advanced screening of TRON: Legacy. Along with the pin was a final parting note from Zack thanking players for their help and urging them to continue to tell that world that Flynn Lives.

9.) Encom Press Conference:

I think many of the attendees got a label/sticker that had a code on it, that when entered in FlynnLives.com, awarded a participation badge. I would consider that swag too, but I don't think I've seen a pic of these yet.

EDIT: and they also had release forms at this event too

I'll see if I can track down a pic. Anyone out there have a pic of the SF Achievement Badge sticker or their release?

I still have mine. Here's a pic (code's been used already so no need to hide it):

Thanks, you're the man! Did they give you a waiver? If so, do you have a pic of it?

You might want to tag this [GRAPHICS] and/or add a subject description that warns of loading many, large images. Some folks out there really are still on dial up, and even those on lower end broadband might find this thread a wee bit laggy. It took a noticeable lag to load on my ~6mbps cable.

I'm pretty sure there were invite flyers being passed out for Flynn's Arcade at Comic-Con. Something similar to the flyer from Wondercon. They were handed to people in the days after the hunt/reveal.

I didn't get one, unfortunately. But someone out there must have saved one.

Brilliant!

I went the night of the hunt, and they weren't being given out then.
