Evening all. Got home from seeing Iron Man 2 a little earlier. Saw the trailer before it and got that same feeling i got before seeing Transformers , with the Cloverfield teaser. Came online to look up Super 8 and shouldve known you guys had already had this much stuff found already. Perfect timing on this too, with Marble Hornets taking a break. The mentioning of Hangar 18 made me remember the old Megadeth song by the same name. Any one old enough to remember that song knows it was about aliens being held in a top secret hangar. Ive always thought it was about a portion of Area 51, so good info about it being in Ohio. On another note, Iron Man 2, ok, first one is better overall, but the last 30 minutes of this one blows away the first one. War Machine is one bad ass mf'er. Kudos to everyone for their hard work and excellent detecting skills. Have scariestthingieversaw.com loaded up as we speak. cant wait for next weekend now, this week is gonna go by so slow, i know it lol. Anyways, im on board, and any help i can provide i will.

I did some wiki editing. I'm a lousy editor so sorry if my pages kind of suck but I wanted to contribute.

Did some research on the number 134640 to see if it tied in some how to 70s technology. All I really found was that certain 320GB Toshiba HDD have exactly 134,640 cylinders with 512 bytes/sector.

I know how JJ Abrams loves his numbers so thought I would play around with them a bit. 134640/20=6732. I think that each of the 20 sector (denoted by [] in the simulator) will be unlocked when after another 6732 bytes is loaded. This seems about congruent with the rate at which I was seeing them unlocked today on my glitched terminal.

At the time of this post, 33032 bytes have loaded. 33032/6732=4.9067142 and we're currently on the fourth sector so I do believe another sector will be unlocked at the 33660 bytes mark (or in approximately 45 minutes from this post). If this is true, I think we'll have a formula for when new sectors will be unlocked FWIW.

ETA: Sector 5 did not unlock at 33660 so forget that theory.

Hola to all! I've been following the thread since the first post and I have to admit this has been very, VERY exciting. Can't wait to see more!

Alrighty, check this out. After looking through the teaser for the thousandth time I think I found something curious. Right after the title says "and director J.J Abrams" and right before it cuts to the scene of the wreckage, you might be able to see a quick bluish figure that reminds me of an alien when I see it. It could also be lens flare but that's just me. Any takers?

Woot, finally done skimming the last 17 pages. Nice to be at the starting line for once. Haven't had the time to get on board for a good ARG for quite a few months. But finals are this week and then I'm done, so game on!

Also just noticed that it's almost been a year since I started getting sucked into ARG's Very Happy May 18th!

Good god, here we go again. I remember a ton of you guys from the Cloverfield ARG...good times, good times.

I don't really have the time to dump hours into Super 8 like I did with Cloverfield, but if I see or hear anything I'll let you guys know. I'll be keeping an eye on this forum.

Well in a way I'm happy nothing has happened without me being around but at the same time I really wanna see something happen now. So I'm all sad and alone and confused and trying to discover the secret behind this thing.

I think I'm just kinda rambling on now.

Ahhh, another juicy JJ Abrams ARG to get into. Nice!

Like most I was disappointed that it wasn't Cloverfield related but it's still exciting!

I have one question to ask. Most of the stuff I've been reading this morning (Yes, I just found out about this a couple of hours ago) is concerned with visual clues from the trailer. Has anyone tried to figure out exactly what the audio clues are? What the people are saying? I have to claim old age hearing when I try to make it out.

For example, at the beginning I hear someone say "I put it on there"...twice?... or "their 20?" Then there is some military type communication going on later on.

Can anyone figure this out?

[EDIT] Or maybe even "I put it on their train."

Also in the trailer, between the "words" subtitles or w/e you want to call them, it almost seems like there are what looks like X-ray photos, is there a way someone can slow the trailer down?

Ah excellent, I was just learning how to do it myself. Much easier if you already know how.

In that case I will end my search for that and wait to see what you can come up with. Hopefully it's not just us seeing things Laughing
