[HUMOR] So what do YOU type to get the 404 page? I always type something different (I have no idea why) whenever I go to check out the 404 page...
For example, today it was: www.ilovebees.com/martymcfly
A couple of days ago it was: www.ilovebees.com/OMGWTFBBQ
Anyway, I wondered if anyone else did this, and if keeping a log would yield funny results.
RULES:
If you used bad language, don't tell me. I don't want to know, and moderators wouldn't let you keep it up here anyway!
If there's a story behind it put it up! (i.e.; I typed "king arthur" cuz I was looking at a movie poster for that just before I headed there)
If you don't like this game/post/subject and think it's dumb. Don't tell me, just don't write in it, and this topic will sink like a stone.
edit- My sixhundredth post -- WHOO HOO!!!! Man, I gotta get outside once in a while...

Flargen and Dingle, the not-quite-leprechans from Aqua Teen Hunger Force... I've been writing ASP all morning, and they've been my test data for some reason

the best thing about it is I'd assume the webmaster is keeping track of 404 errors... I'd love to see their face when they read what some of the pages being looked for are called

Now THAT's funny... Do webmasters do that?
edit - if they didn't, I'll bet they are now!

Oh trust me, I do... it helps in the 'datamining' process... what are people looking for? Can I put up a page to redirect a popular 404 to an existing page? things like that... most of it just typos and annoying search engine spider (*cough*) tests, but it's a great help...
I keep track of referrers too (obviously) so I can even data mine that for what people are searching for in search engines to get to my site (and what other sites are linking to mine)... try doing a google search for "ilovebees" and see where my website pops up
I'm happy hehe
Edit: blah! I just tried it again and now I'm down to the 2nd page... I was up at the 4th or 5th result in the listing... ARGh! Oh well... time to spread the linkage again and get the search engine ratings back up

During Lockjaw, it was with mixed emotions that we saw what sort of dictionary-style brute forcing data sets certain players were using to find out hidden directories and pages.
It's an amusing exercise, yep.

Krystyn, I'm sure you understand, but just to make it clear to any stumbling upon this topic, I don't mean this as "what pages have you tried? Did anything work?"
I simply mean, KNOWING it will only get you to the 404 error page, what have you put in, as an inside joke to yourself?
I mean, the martymcfly thing, I have NO IDEA what prompted me to write that. But it was amusing to me to type it at the end, and that martymcfly got me where I wanted to be... well, that's cool.
Anyway... Just wanted to clarify...
so krystyn, what have you put in? or do you just intentionally fudge a letter or something innocuous?

Oh, I know whatcha meant, but thanks for clarifying. I've just been using my first name or nickname like so:
krystyn.ilovebees.com/404
that way, I didn't have to keep erasing cookies, because it was making a new cookie for each subdomain.
(other nicknames: glitter, glitterbook, entelein, I think)

Sometimes I just fudge a letter (delete one from an existing url up in the address bar)
Normally go for www.ilovebees.com/arg.html for obvious reasons.

After learning that sometimes the PMs do a chat session or something after the game is over I wondered how long it would take for someone to barge in asking, "Hey!!1 Do you guys have any dana n00dz!11!11?"
