I think there's some confusion going on, I don't think JOOLZ was implying the numbers on the screens came from a cookie, though it does sound that way. I think instead he was saying the site uses cookies to remember the password you entered.

Clearing your cookies wouldn't work as then you'd have to enter the password again and create a new cookie Smile

Ah, okay. Thank you for clearing that up Azure!

I think we should be prepared for it to change.

It changed with the PW update, it looks like he is on to something...

I wish they would make the Flash file not be 30+Mb. Makes the site impossible to load at home 'cause its too damn big.

It's 7.28MB.

I agree with you anyway. It does take too long to load.

yeah... just a cookie to say you've already entered the PW, nothing more complicated as Azure said.

I dont know the ARG scene at all so based on other recent games/campaigns:

Does GKNOVA6 seem to not be going anywhere in terms of reveals?
Would it be considered normal to launch an ARG 6 months before the proposed launch/release of the product it's promoting?
Is inconsistency (site changes etc) normal or do ARG'ers think this entire thing is being made up as they go along???

Can I just point out, that all those who are frustrated etc, we wouldn't have known about the password field and the overview picture if the swf hadn't been decompiled - it would have been a nice surprise.

But because we already knew about that, it was a huge anticlimax - because we'd pushed a little too far too soon.

Bit like someone finding a photo of the 4th section of the Kryptos solution 10 years ago, and then finding the method to solve the puzzle yesterday - would they say then it was too long to wait? Razz

That is a good point but they could have just hidden the password in the first transmission and then presented us with the exisiting site as we still dont have any actual PLOT confirmation details.

Instead, we've been on a tour de force of cold war conspiracy theories hidden in various ciphers, noises and clues which leaves us none the wiser with zero confirmation on any of our suspicions.

I recognise I might be overlooking the point of ARG but I guess my frustration is born from the fact that someone who has just watched GKNOVA Transmission 1 & the COD BO teaser trailer knows as much about the actual plot as the people who have spent multiple hours, over 5 GKNOVA transmissions, cracking difficult codes.

Whine over.

One way of looking at it is we've been drawn into their world a little.

Also, some of the earlier clues were needed to get the password, so we did need to work for a reason.

Transmission 2 confuses me the most though - what was the point of the coordinates except to bring attention to the cold war?

Really? The last one (after transmission 4) was 25+Mb.

No, I actually have to disagree with you on this Kaltern. For me, the gknova6 update to this "room" scene was a huge climax for this arg, despite having seen that picture. And after giving it some thought, that's the frustrating part. The fact there's this huge climactic event that get's me motivated once again only to find out that it leads NOWHERE. What feels like something that's climactic really didn't turn out as such and could possibly have been planned like that all along. The game is dropping people like flies, the only people still dedicated to cracking the codes (in Englsih speaking countries at least) are us and that codz group, and the only reason they're so interested is not because they're enjoying an ARG but because it could have a direct connection to them and they wanna prove it to somebody (although I'm not sure who, maybe us?) if/when it happens. We're still at it for any number of reasons but I don't think the end product is anywhere on that list.

There is almost no one following this anymore and it has especially lost the attention of anyone who would feel it's "newsworthy". And it was sent to news websites!

In the meantime, let's just keep chuggin along I guess....
