So assuming the number is 21+70.64 the sign means that spot was 21*100 + 70.64' or 2170.64' from the beginning of the project. Unfortunately, that doesn't exactly help us since we don't know what rail line it is.

Could be B.O. Rail, IG time-frame, they had the most operational lines in the Tri-State area.

Yes I am a noob here but I found a bit of information that you guys seem to have failed to pick up on. It's pretty much worthless to me but maybe it means something to somebody.

When you visit www.scariestthingieversaw.com and click the print button on the lower left hand corner of the remote view screen you can then move the DOS like window out of the way by simply dragging it. You will then be asked if you want to print the document. Upon printing it you will get the following message printed off your printer.

Railroad

Hello,
My first time posting so I hope Im not too far off.

From the trailer we see "BONHAM" on the side of the train. Denison, Bonham and New Orleans Railroad operated in Texas from 1891-1928 on 26.7 miles of track. I know the time frame is off but it may be something.

I have also been searching for some kind of map or reference for the powerpole label but havent found anything yet.

According to this map, WPAFB is served by Norfolk Southern. But back in the 80s, it was called Norfolk and Western Railways.

ETA: Both Summit and Portage counties are about 200 miles NE of Dayton. If the train passed through those counties to get to Dayton, it took a round-about way of getting there.

I think J.J. is lying and this is Clovefield related. The line that gets me is the one that sounds like Hud from Cloverfield in this movie, "Oh my God!" The trailer, although shot in super 8, is not someone filming, like some teen or something as J.J. or someone said, but more cinematic Super 8. .

Maybe JJ is lying (this is based on a conspiracy theory, right? Or maybe, he's just having fun.) and this is in fact somehow Cloverfield related. Remember in Cloverfield the whole 'it's alive' thing? We never found out what that meant, even know 2 years after Cloverfield we still don't know what it is! Plus, in the communications you hear "OH MY GOD" like what Hud said from Cloverfield, and actually, interestingly enough, Hud was the one who said 'it's alive.'

I wanted to say that maybe Hud had ties or even worked with the government, but that would mean Cloverfield is 29 years after Super 8, and Hud does not look like a 30-40 year old to me.

Also, what video editing software are you guys using to analyze the trailer?

About editing software: I playback videos with VideoLAN, since there is very good function to play videos very slow.

Then I'm using Adobe ImageReady to load .mov file and save it as gif or frames.

Don't slow down the video. Step through it frame by frame. Once you slow it down, it creates the frames in between the actual ones, through a variety of tricks. You could see all kinds of things in those frames that are totally the creation of the process to slow the video down. If you can't see it in the original video, it's probably not there. I was going to throw it in After Effects, and brighten it up a bit though.

EDIT: here ya go

these have just been brightened. That's it. No sharpening, no color changes, no nothing except made brighter.

Honestly I think we've found everything there is to find in the trailer. If anyone wants anything brightened, or "enhanced", send me a PM with the specific frame number. NOT "the shot at 12 seconds".

Thank you.

Also, maybe not. Did we anyone see anything on the train before it hit the car, or anything else? We gotta look at everything, and so far most of the things are at the end of the trailer, did anyone try looking at anything in the beginning?

Post with numbers

ETA: I hereby retract the following speculation:
Has anyone considered that the numbers aren't on the post, but rather "cast" onto the post? Ie a light source (fire) behind another object with those numbers pouched through?

Badunno.. I'm only looking at stills... Still a possibility?

On another note, the pc in the wreckage is a TRaSh 80 model III. My first computer...
http://www.obsoletecomputermuseum.org/trs80iii/

ETA2 That puts the wreckage post 1980?

ETA the wiki says it's a "super 8 computer", I can't even find that on google...
