New ARG?
Got this in the mail today: Empty plastic bottle w/ a label of the industries and a letter dated 6.10.2010. On the lid of the bottle there are numbers and letters (but I can barely read them) and a website on the label. www.Aguateroindustries.com

Looks like the start to something new. I wont be able to get pics til my wife gets home w/ the camera and so I'm guessing tomorrow. (I think it's an ARG because when I go to logon to the employee site, it is a WordPress page... I will get more info up when I get it (I Promise)!

Just FYI - I emailed the website via contact to ask about a job and I emailed the name on the letter about the cap code (which is hand written by the way).

[Edit] The letter I received rolled in the water bottle is on the website heading "Our Expansion"

 		bottle cap
So I'm just doing this myself right now (and I promise I'll get pics) but the code on the cap is a wp.me address. I didn't know what that was until about 2 minutes ago. The problem is I can't read the actual shortened address. it looks like "/puru9-2" but when I try it, it says the blog was deleted. Any other ideas?

 		I also received the bottle in the mail today -- just finished transcribing the press release inside (had to cut the bottle open to get at it) and should have info up on ARGNet shortly.

EDIT: and that was unnecessary, as the press release is included verbatim on the website. Oh well, such is life.
EDIT THE SECOND: article's up on ARGNet now.

 		aww, i don't use ARGnet. So I'll keep stuff here as up to date as I can. Did you get the wp.me on the lid? if so, was it the same as mine?

and fyi, the letter is transcribed already on the website, so just copy and paste

 		It's hard to read it, as at least one of the letters appears to have rubbed away -- the best I can manage is wp.me up top, with HPURU9-2 below that.

EDIT: on second glance, yeah -- that's probably a slash, not an H.

Woot... just got an email response! Looks like it's a game!

Dear Mr. [swift360]:

I'm pleased that you received our correspondence today; however, I am unsure as to why this strange code was printed underneath the bottle cap. Our mailing consisted of a full bottle of Aguatero Purified Drinking Water and a copy of our press release. Because of this, there would have been no way for one of our employees to write anything there. Additionally, during production, nothing is printed there.

You have me a bit concerned, but I thank you for contacting me. I assure you that Aguatero Industries takes its corporate image very seriously and will investigate this incident.

I really have no idea what that address may mean. However, because our site runs on Wordpress, I know that it is a shortlink for a wordpress.com blog, which are very case sensitive.

I will keep in contact with you in regards to this disturbing incident. Thank you for your time and diligence.

 		I applied for Customer Service Representative as well. I didn't think I could easily convince a person of my nonexistent qualifications for the other positions.
It would be terribly embarrassing if this somehow turned out not to be an ARG and we're all applying for actual jobs.
