Nice. Interesting how the first ones are explainable, and the flying saucer in the second story he didn't actually see... it was his photographers/filmers that saw it and told him the story. He was back at the office.

I'm just watched a Phil Schneider talk:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9042499324182317197#

Grumpy, quasi-scientific, semi-historical, partally political ramblings. Yep, he was a mental. Great sci-fi subject matter though.

Interesting! First images of the movie made me think of something. Went digging a little, couldn't find the original life-cover... but the photo on the left was on the life site.

Hmm, found this aswell

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SEl2xNGhbA

Quote:
Henry W. McElroy, Jr, retiring State Representative to New Hampshire, declared this week that former U.S. President Eisenhower was briefed about the presence of extraterrestrial intelligent beings on Earth. McElroy also said that the document he viewed while at the State Legislature made reference to the opportunity for Eisenhower to meet the alien visitors.

Seems to have been released over the last few days and also mentions Gordon Cooper. Looks like a coincidence tho

Well, the address is a post office box, so I wouldn't expect Google maps to exactly pinpoint the location. Technically, it would just exist in the Minot post office.

Either way, the application form from astronaut "Daring Doug" is on its way. Very Happy

Do we have anybody in Minot, ND or nearby that can get a peek at the PO? Might be fun to at least get a pic of the PO Box itself.

Yes, my first thought was that it is something traveling on the road, like a vehicle or a tractor.

Just some interesting info on Minot.

Minot, also known as the "Magic City", is a precious jewel of the Dakotas that proudly holds two scepters of the US Air Force’s prowess wings: The 5th Bomb Wing and The 91st Space Wing. Minot Air Force Base is located 12 miles north of Minot.

Pretty awesome looking logo, IMHO.

brilliant, it IS a key.

Did you notice the pattern in the field? Strange...

Count Cupid - I had detailed some of this information in the accessing file thread:

The City of Minot's official website flags that the city "proudly holds two scepters of the US Air Force’s prowess wings: The 5th Bomb Wing and The 91st Space Wing". (source: http://minotnd.org/)

The 91st Space Wing is tasked to "defend the United States with...150 Minuteman III missiles (a variety of ICBMs)...located in underground silos throughout North Dakota" (source: http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/agency/91sw.htm)

The 5th Bomb Wing - does not seem as relevant to the material at hand as the above but includes nuclear capabilities. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5th_Bomb_Wing)

Note that Minot Air Force Base was also the site at which the "2007 United States Air Force nuclear weapons incident" transpired, although the date lies well outside the bracket suggested by the work so far. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_United_States_Air_Force_nuclear_weapons_incident)

Clearly, there is a theme at play here. Certainly it harks back to the speech which JFK made and is the basis for those comments found in the Rocket Poppeteers newspaper. Maybe these strands are related to Super 8, maybe not - the problem is how they tie together.
