They could have ended it this way, like I said earlier, when he said he was going back to the house, but they didn't. This is just ridiculous and you're all wasting your time. Instead of spouting pointless speculation that's going nowhere, why don't you go talk about something else?

Instead of poo-pooing just about everything you read on this forum, why don't you say something constructive?

Exactly. If you don't like what you're reading, then stop reading it. Honestly, it's not that hard.

Anyways, I doubt they'd just leave us here. But thinking of the creators having to go through school and all that, I can see if it takes a week or two for a new update. I'd know, got my own film in the works and it takes forever to get anything done. Rolling Eyes

Perhaps Jay'll come back with "Just got back. Can't remember anything from the last few weeks, Entry 27 up soon." Though he did say his memory was getting better. Hrm, too tough to tell. Let's just hope it doesn't take too long.

Or, y'know, back up your arguments with something other than "basically you're all stupid for not thinking what I think".

As far as I can tell, J is in no greater danger than before. If anything, the danger levels have gone down quite a bit. SM's focused on Alex again, and Masky finally got J out of the house. I imagine the worst he's got coming is getting caught in the crossfire during Alex's latest SM showdown.

I interpreted his "so long and thanks for the help" as a continuation of his "I'm quitting the game" statements early in the entry. He's going to find Alex and presumably make him fix whatever disasters J has unleashed upon his own life. At this stage in the game, J thinks he's at the end of his investigation (as opposed to the end of his life).

Lol. As soon as I read this, I thought

End of act two...

If they do keep going and we see some epic show downs or failures, I would be pleased as peaches. I'm probably going to keep lurking this forum for a little while either way. Good times were had!

This isn't endgame yet. Jay said "I don't know when the next time you'll hear from me" in the Entry, so I'm going to assume we won't hear from Marble Hornets for a while and then he'll upload a video which will not be called Entry 27 but something else.

It sounds like some of you WANT this series to actually be over with the kind of talking that I'm hearing. It is what it is, just don't stress over it and watch the pretty colors when the next video comes out.

You guys are just getting upset because there are so many things to talk about and you get a new set of questions and talking points every 2 to 4 weeks. It's frustrating, I know, not to have your questions answered every minute in our fast paced society but just calm down.

I don't know about that. We don't really have a lot of unanswered questions about the series. It's just that MH has brought up a lot of themes and hasn't fully explored them yet.

This is where the "Ted the Caver" analogy is so important. That was an ARG/short story which brought up a lot of interesting themes and had quite a following. Unfortunately, it ended with a "I'll be back soon, unless..." post, and sadly left all its plot/theme strings dangling.

Ted didn't leave any lingering questions as its story was simple (caver realizes a monster is in the cave), but it only half-explored a lot of its themes. Marble Hornets is a more complicated story due to its narrative, but at its core is still a pretty simple story (filmer realizes a monster is stalking him, others have similar experiences). If the series ended today, it's not like we'd be confused about the story. Most of our questions are "Why?" or "What's that for?", not "What's going on?".

So why are MH fans so concerned? A big reason: the narrators' story arcs have probably come to a close. Jay's original/only goal has been to find Alex. As far as he knows, that goal will be met once he reaches that return address. TTA's goal is nebulous, but probably has something to do with J meeting up with Alex. What's so bad about that? Well, the MH story is happening underneath the narrators' stories. If the narrators have met their goals, it doesn't mean the story underneath has finished. And if the narrators leave, how will we hear the rest of the story?

We're worried because we *don't* know if we'll get to hear more. There's no proof that we will. Ted the Caver had an intriguing story that was cut off too short, and most of the media that we enjoy today suffers from a similar disease (like season 1 of "Heroes"). The MH crew has done nothing to make us doubt their devotion to the story, and I know this isn't the last we've heard from J or Masky, but its a cliffhanger. Don't be surprised if we're on the edge of our seats.

Morscata, you put things so eloquently. This is what I'd have said but perhaps in too long and rambly a post. I'm satisfied with the narrator's story lines coming to a close, though there is that underlying "but then what happens?!" question that is itching to be asked!

It's not over forever. Part I just ended. They are doing a Q&A over at Something Awful right now.
