Slender Man is the galactic referee, making sure nobody breaks the rules, and when he does he comes to give you a Yellow Card.

Don't try giving him $20, he doesn't take lightly to bribing. He takes his job very seriously.

The name of the Operator symbol leads me to believe it has something to do with cameras, not hourglasses.

Camera Related Symbols

That camera symbols idea is pretty interesting. I found a list of camera related symbols:

The AC symbol immediately stuck out to me ( ), and there's a couple that look similar but not identical to the operator symbol.

This is possibly something that has been discussed before, but the idea just occurred to me and I wanted to write it down before I forget; it relates to the bullet casing. I apologize in advance if some of my thoughts are unclear. I couldn't sleep (guess why :p)

Remember when J visited the red tower (I forget which entry)? When he got closer, there were holes dotting some of the sides, up and down. The size of them made me think they were bullet holes, which would be the most obvious relation to the bullet casing I can think of.

Entry 14 got me thinking that Slenderman succeeded, at some point, in manipulating Alex. My theory is that the blood on Alex's face belonged to Sarah, who Alex, under Slenderman's influence, might have murdered in the Red Tower. I say Sarah because she is the least accounted for cast member of Marble Hornets. The police tape was obviously (imo) meant to allude that SOMETHING happened there. Perhaps Alex called Sarah up and asked her to return to the tower for "filming", where he shot her. This wouldn't explain why there's SO MANY bullet holes, but perhaps Slenderman has enacted similar murders through other people before.

For the sake of my theory, let's assume that TTA is Alex and Masky is Tim. This train of thought leads to a lot of interesting possibilities about their motives, depending on whether you think they're benign or evil. If they're benign, they could be attempting to protect J from being used OR being killed in a similar fashion. Or maybe they're even seeking revenge. If they're evil and/or still under Slenderman's influence, they could be working to stop his investigation, possibly explaining why the bullet casing was removed from J's pocket.

Regardless, I think a few things are evident. One: Tim knows much more than he let on in his interview. Two: I feel like the Slenderman either *can't* harm someone physically or is simply sadistic and chooses to use others to do so. How many opportunities has he had to kill J/the Marble Hornets crew? He's been directly in Alex's vicinity many, many times. If he really objected so strongly to being filmed, wouldn't it have been easier to simply kill the annoying one with the camera?

Obviously this theory has as many holes as the tower itself. Why would Slenderman want Sarah dead? Could it be that it was her all along who saw him first? What significance did the tower itself have?

Anyone have thoughts/comments? Has someone listed anything similar before? There's a LOOOT of theories on this board, and honestly I couldn't read them all in one sitting even if I wanted to ^^;

Not to shoot your idea down out of hand -- you've put a lot of thought into it, and there might be some truth to some of what you propose -- but the holes all over the red tower come from it being an old climbing wall, with the hand and footholds taken out, I'm afraid, rather than bullet holes.

Haha, I knew it was going to end up being something like that that I just overlooked. Don't worry about it; mostly I just rambled up there. I saw the whole series for the first time today and I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it all!

Oooh, well in that case, welcome to the insanity. There's a lot of good reading to tickle your brains in the (mind-bogglingly long) Trailhead thread, and in Game Discussion, if taking on the Trailhead seems too daunting!

It does seem to hold some validity, though. The police tape around the tower seems to have flown under the radar -- maybe people figured it was just a part of the tower OOG and wasn't included by the crew?

What if we subbed in the murderee as Brian, not Sarah? While Sarah is the least accounted for, Brian is the most conspicuous in his absence, in that he's remarked upon in #17 and #20 as being gone. And we see that Alex has moved into Brian's house at some point during his filming. There is blood in the burnt out basement as well, in a couple of different places... if SM/The Operator didn't kill him, Alex seems like he could be a prime candidate.

When Jay gets a tip on where to find brian and goes to Brians house and sees a person sitting on a couch why does he shout out "alex?"

He's been looking for Alex this entire time. Of course it's going to be the first person he thinks the masked guy is.

True, but at that point he was momentarily searching for marble hornets cast members to get a lead on alex so he was searching for Brian in Brians house. making it a "someone in brians house? It must be alex!" Im probabely just nitpicking though

I'm brand new here and I was wondering if we know why the audio is missing from some tapes? I sorta have a suspicion slendy is communicating in those videos and for whatever reason it was cut out

On the subject of Alex in Brian's house- J DID find Alex's drawings in the house the first time he went there, while he didn't find anything that directly pointed to Brian. Could be why he assumed it was Alex.
SM communicating in the videos? Very cool idea.... especially if the speaking we hear in 23 turns out to be him.... I always imagined him creepily mute, but I could learn to deal with a talking Slendy.

In the earlier tapes we also see that Alex's shacked up in Brian's house. Jay would notice that, too, of course!

One of Alex's drawings does say 'speaks to me'. I wouldn't be surprised if the audio was cut out for that reason. Or if the audio simply failed at that point. One person suggested that SM can take the audio and use it to parrot back words, which is why that stuff was missing.
