You'd think they'd at least text the phone owners to continue holding on to the phones if that is the case. Especially if the carrier is asking for money to keep the lines active.
Just saying.

I'd say there is always the option of those phones nolonger having a part to play, but it does seem a bit expensive for a one time use piece.

Agreed, if the phones lapse into no minute land I would say you're right. They might not come into play again but I think they will. I remember during WhySoSerious? there were several times guys with phones started panicking that they were running out of minutes and the PM's always added more minutes right before the phones would run out.

If they only used the phones to tell the operatives on the ground where a wallet is that would be a bit of overkill.

That said, I could be wrong...

The problem is if they let them expire, the numbers are gone and they can't top them up again and call their operatives. Honestly had I gotten one I would've put a little money on it myself, just to have a spare phone to mess around with. If the phone does expire, you may have to wait at least 90 days total if you wanted to re-activate it yourself. Otherwise, it's a brick.

On a side note, V-Mo just introduced some really good monthly plans.

I'm one of the original Joker Phone holders (i.e. picked it up in the cake) and like FSURobbie says, each time a warning came up about minutes that were about to run out or expire, the phones were always refilled. Don't worry. Cool

Well, I just had a heart attack, as I got a phone call, which consisted of static, and maybe someone talking. No idea what ARG it was for, as I'm in two at the moment. It could have been a wrong number, though.

Me: Hello?
?: *static* *some sort of breathing/ talking, unaudible* *static*

the Twilight Zone.

Yeah, maybe. I wish I had caught what it said, if anything.

I'm sure if it were a hint they would've tried making it intelligible since normal people, even if inclined, don't hook phones up to recording equipment. So probably a prank call.

Still, wish you'd recorded it for the folks playing at home. Smile

Well, that's what a cake is for...besides hiding phones.
