Ok, I've decoded Alfred Vail.doc ...Amandel did figure out that Alfred Vail was connected to Morse code but wasn't able to get it to translate, but I'm not sure why...I was able to get it by doing the following:

- find & replace all 0s with .s
- find & replace all 1s with -s
- find & replace all *s with /s
- copy & paste the whole thing into the top box of http://morsecode.scphillips.com/jtranslator.html & hit "Translate"

Is that butterfly picture anything to do with V's mother? I seem to remember her name was also a butterfly.

TY, Dagata. The "Vanessa annabella" (West Coast Lady butterfly-see pic) folds her colored wings as camouflage from predators. Tried subs on the Alfred_Vail.doc & just messed up. Props.

It's well cited that Poussin's Et in Arcadia ego is a major theme explored in Nabokov's "perfect novel", Pale Fire. Also, his famous "paradisia radugaleta" butterfly is solely from his imagination, "radugaleta has it's stem in raduga which means rainbow in Russian." (Cornell U. Library)

While ominous this personal theme speaks to Vlad's intimacy with Vanessa (and her mother), totally lacking in his relationship with his granddaughter, Poeas. Had mentioned to her in my email that our msgs are scanned by Orpheus and got this:

I'm wondering if that cog piece (not codpiece!) in the video is the piece we need to find. The trouble is, there are too many possible places right now. The windmill visible from the church Claire was held at, the cave in Bridgnorth, even Bletchley Park / and more!!

Another thought. How is Claire connected to this? V worries about her being used against her. She was there during the previous events. She seems to have similar mental duality to V. Could SHE be part of the machine, or needed for it to work?

I didn't know if that substitution was going to work (was going to try the dashes for the 0s and the dots for 1s if it didn't), but I figured, zeros are kinda round, dots are kinda round, let's try it. Then when I went to try the dash-for-1 substitution, it struck me that a 1 looks kinda like a vertical dash.

Ok, so I sent Claire a message telling her what the translated Alfred Vail document said, and she had this to say:

Interesting connection. Way back when the game was in chessboard stage it was suggested I become a bishop as the current one was soon to fall. That was Vlad. Perhaps they've given me the identity he held in the Ministry?

Link to the English Beautiful Dreamer lyrics from V's blog entry. They read exactly like V talking to Vlad about her entire life.

Guessing those two XX under H le R's mail are less kissy-face and more Tarot Card (Judgement). Leaving it's tarot wisdom to our owl, D And who pulled V's twitter accn't and why?

You know what would really help? A family tree - mainly to help get our heads around who Poeas' and V's grandparents and parents are.

Excellent idea. Can you try including links to The Ministry too please, as some people have been described as its parents etc.

Folks, we're running out of time. If we're going to find this machine and do something to it we need to work out where and what it is ASAP! If it turns out to be something that needs to be collected from London or the surrounds I've only got limited time before Sunday in which I can go out and about.

The other option - I see the Minisistry say using Typhus' real name seems to have a negative effect on the project. Do we know who he/she is? If we started spamming the ning and other places with mentions of Typhus could this help sabotage things?

EDIT: just been Reading a few things on the Wiki. If Vlad is "living" in V's brain, could it be that Poeas is living in Claire's? There seem to be a few strange links between the two of them - C noticing P in a cab they jumped into - blacking out, etc. This is a worry. Would also make sense as to why V talks about "my enemy's enemy (not my friend)". Someone - please tell me I'm being silly and this can't be?

I've made a list of all the songs, in order, on the CD:

Trying to work out some relevance, but no luck yet. Interestingly, V lists "Sting?" on the booklet, but he's not there. He did do a cover of Windmills though....

Edit - I wonder; does the machine involve a mirror? We have references to Alice (who entered wonderland through a looking glass the second time around) and also the poisoned apple from Snow White. The Queen who delivered the poisoned apple got her messages through a mirror. Is this how the message is to be conveyed?



On another note, watching the video again, I'm sure there's a deliberate juxtaposition of Alice and the White Rabbit and the Bridgenorth Caves. Almost as if it's trying to tell us that's the way into the rabbit hole.

We're still in with a chance there - it needs to be moved to a location and "launched". We may be able to disrupt that.

My biggest concern at the moment is where, and who, Poeas is. Is there anyone who's got enough of her trust, or bargining chips, that could get some info from her on the premise that we want to help her.

Contacting Orpheus is another hope - he Had been protecting V, and certainly assisted in her passing the CD. Any ideas how we could reach him?

Should the machine need a specific location it might be in the vicinity of St Alfege Church. April 19th, what the MOA calls "RVZ8 day" is St. Alfege's day which is the "anniversary of his martyrdom".
