Antartica

The bad news is that we have nothing to go on for any lead on Antartica. I dont believe any of our rescearch has even remoatly pointed to it. On the bright side it is a major discovery that we will look into, im sure it wasnt put in their on accident...Nothing else to go on for today...Hopefuly we get some more clues tomrrow...

Im waiting on my Rocket Poppeteers form to come back...its either going to say Return to Sender or go to some old man with a P.O box he only checks once a week...whos going to get a hell of a lot of junk mail...

Well, if you go back a few pages, we had some guy that actually lives in Minot, ND go to the post office and take a picture of the P.O. box in question, so they at least have somewhere to go, instead of return to sender. I'm guessing that they already have a forward in place, though, as I'm sure a bunch of hollywood movie makers aren't going to keep a guy in Minot just to pick up mail. But seeing as Rocket Poppeteers is significant enough to have its own website, I'm sure they will do something with the mail-ins. What is anyone's guess.

Here is a thought, is it possible to ask the post office if an address has a forward on it, and get the address? Or is that confidential information? I imagine it is, but in a little town like Minot, someone might be able to sweet talk a postal lady into giving up the address if they said it was their estranged brother they haven't talked to for ten years and they wanted to find him and have a reunion. Not the best plan ever, but what else do we have right now?

Food for Thought: Someone had previously suggested that perhaps "Rocket Poppeteers" was an anagram for something else.

Well, one of the more interesting anagrams is "Keep Top Secret Pro".

Someone I know works with classified documents and they mentioned that these documents frequently include "Top Secret, Pro." with the "Pro" signifying Proprietary.

Not sure if this helps but it definitely made me think "Keep Top Secret Pro" may be the anagram for "Rocket Poppeteers".

can't quite make ou the names of the bases on the first one except for the second star he's not pointing at i think is Aboa Finland's base. And the one he's pointing to it says South African but the name doesn't match up with the South African base which is (Sanae IV)

If anything I would say it more resembles the Gulf of Mexico.

If so then it may fall in the timeline. The crater found in the gulf of mexico was discovered in 1978. Maybe JJ will put a spin on this and say that we found some alien life form entombed in the ocean floor.

Read the wiki for more info i only skimmed it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicxulub_crater

you're probably right about the local. But if it is the gulf then the star he's pointing to is along the Texas coast near Corpus Christi, not the Chicxulub crater.

OMG Holy Crap

this probably doesn't belong here but: anyone notice the weird spacing on the articles in some places there's just one space between two words in others there are more, the white lines mean everything.....i can't tell yet but they do..............

Not trying to say that there couldn't be anything in that, but all newspapers do that to give the columns those nice straight sides and keep everything neat looking. I think it is called justified text.

I guess at this point, we could come to all kinds of conclusions and see all kinds of clues everywhere.

I wasn't around for the Cloverfield viral really, but how long before Cloverfield came out was the viral started? And, how often were you guys fed more clues?

If we have about a year before Super8 is released, how often would clues be released into the viral? Seems like alot happened very quickly with the trailer being released and the two sites being linked to it. Should we expect more info to be found so fast?

Also, at the bottom of the Rocket Poppeteers site, the copyright is for "Poppeteers", not "Rocket Poppeteers". Does this mean the parent company, "Poppeteers", makes more than just "Rocket" Pops?

And I'm sure you'll all love this:
What makes you think that's "our" moon in the Poppeteers image? I can't find an image of our moon that has a crater in that same spot.

If it is antartica this could be the link:

The coupon

Ok, so next to the maze it says "Guide your cosmic rocket so it reaches Saturn and submit the completed puzzle with your Outer Space Application!!"

But what if the maze isn't the puzzle? If they wanted you to send that in aswell, why put the "cut along hear" marks only around the coupon?
Did they really need to ask for both your name and your "Astronaut name"?

(btw.. the 3rd way of doing the maze is to go all the way around the outside Wink )

Maybe it's really a psychological test used to divide the applicants into groups to select "the best":

those who sent in:

- coupon
- coupon and maze solution 1
- coupon and maze solution 2
- coupon and maze solution 1 and 2 (in same maze)

Astronaut name:

- realistic/ fantasy name
- partial use of real name

The Picture Behind Coop

It's definitely not Antarctica, the Gulf of Mexico, or Minot, ND

I'm not even convinced it's an outline for anything. Might just be a splash behind Coop to make the picture look better.

p.o. box

You know, its possible that the mail for the P.O. Box in Minot to be automatically forwarded elsewhere.

Did anyone check to see if saturn was referenced or drawn in as like an optical illusion or anything like that? maybe through that there is some sort of secret message. The maze could just be a decoy.

Fiiiinally got a chance to mail in my coupon. Very Happy Astronaut name: Sgt. Starborn.

I'm pretty sure we're going to get a badge or ID card of some kind with our Astronaut name on it. Or they might even be used as unique logins to the Poppeteers site. Very Happy
