So... FYI...
I just bought wemustparty.com
I'm so gullible Smile ..and also a little surprised it wasn't already squatted

So here's what I'm thinking... if we do take a design to cafepress, or perhaps even threadless.com - wemustparty.com could become a product splash page... that is, tshirts could have that url, and on the site it could link to unfiction, show various designs and link to purchase pages. Or the site could just be a themed splash page w/o linking to any shirts, just uf. *shrug*

Tshirts at cafepress could have the url, but I don't think threadless would allow it. However, depending on design, the 'we must party.' meme could make a good series of shirts Smile

Nonetheless, whatever happens, wemustparty.com is now locked down Cool

surely there is a graphic designer in our midst that can create an awesomely cool yet simple design....

film running between the letter like they're gears?

ditto the aged/worn look of the design

Also I think the black/white/red colour scheme works nicely Smile
film: red lettering, w/ B&W film
car: B&W w/ red brake lights
railroad crossing lights: B&W w/red lights
you get the idea Smile and it could be adapted for B&W-only tshirts.

I'd be happy to throw down some design. I'm not a professional but I have *some* photoshopping skills.

I think a WMP logo is in order.

I just realized... if we do this, there must be one design that pays tribute to the origin of the meme.

May 15th, anniversary of Captain Cooper going to space.
We must party.

in honour of Gordon Cooper and/or Project Mercury, tis fitting Smile

Hey guys, sorry for being a noob, but can anyone link me or tell me what we must party means?

Also, I'd be willing to make a design in Photoshop; I have skillz.

Great to see that so many of you are interested in this little project! I'm currently talking to my design and print guru, and I'll return as soon as possible Smile

EDIT: Still talking, but we have come up with a couple of design ideas, incorporating a number of your suggestions, and I will post them here, when we get them done.

I'll try to address some of the issues put forth by you in the thread...

The price will be less than $10 + shipping from Denmark (which shouldn't be much), so hopefully all of you can afford one, but the price depends on the number of colors used.

And yes, these will be hand screened, and possibly hand numbered as well for that oh so elitist feel of owning one, with #1 being sent to JJ c/o Bad Robot Very Happy

I have decided to NOT include the term "Super 8" in the design. I don't want Unfiction to recieve a C&D letter because of me, however unlikely it may be.

I generally like the idea of having a piece of film in the artwork but to make it recognizable and easy to associate with Super 8 it would need to run horizontally, which I think would look messy on a t-shirt. Personally I wouldn't wear it, but it's all a matter of taste. What I'm aiming at is a t-shirt I would wear.

Also, I really appreciate the mod input on the inclusion of anything Unfiction. With the current design ideas we have decided not to include it or possibly put it in braille under the "We must party." phrase. This, however, is still something we will address during design meetings. Wow, I sound all corporate now, sorry about that. The operation is all very indie, as my buddy's printing business is mainly geared towards band shirts. A couple of examples can be seen here:

Oh, and by the way, thebruce... Damn you for registering the domain! I literally came home and went to register it minutes after your post about you registering it! Very Happy

Aaanyway, I hope this clears up a few things, and I'll be back soon-ish with some more stuff.

Hmm, maybe the mercury spacecraft with WMP in place of USA?

I think it had "United States" spelled out actually. The monument is kind of cool, though, and it amuses me that it incorporates the numeral 7. No, I don't know why.

In regards to the Cooper tribute, we tinkered with the idea of having the thumbs up picture from the Rocket Poppeteers ad with the words "We must party." next to him, but, well.. IP and stuff, and the idea was dismissed rather quickly. But have no fear, our thinking caps are never off!

Yes, it does

I'm guessing the "7" may refer to "Freedom 7".
