I debated putting my answers up after swift360 did, but I was uncertain if anyone would be interested. Since you've asked and since swift360 was kind enough to share his responses:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm Candidate #2

I'm debating between #2 and #5. It seems like 2 played their answers to Aguatero's liking, not imagining this employee poll would not be the method of selection while 5 rolled the dice so to speak and put his/her genuine personal responses. Both are perfectly respectable approaches and both are quite eloquent as well. (Whew, that was hard to keep spoiler-free)

This is an approach I hadn't expected at all. I'm wondering if we should expect more of this quasi pvp element in the future.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm #1 and chose answers I thought would fit for a president-level exec member of an evil mega-corp, which (if I'm not mistaken) is what we are supposed to take Aguatero for.

I'm with Euthantos, what an interesting idea! It had never occurred to me you all would be the "staff members of Aguatero Industries;" I envisioned an imaginary board of executives sitting around a giant table to be the staff members. I think I like this better. Anyway, it's all in good fun, and I, for one, am having a lot of fun so far.

Got this today, a response from a comment I made about my shared interests in conservation:

Thank you for your comment.

Here at Aguatero Industries, we believe nothing is more important than our environment. That's why we continue to set the industry standard for lowered carbon footprints, team member knowledge of conservation, and dollars spent towards PSA's and others ways of informing the public about this important aspect of life.

We appreciate your support and know we will be able to count on you in the future.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Roberts
Customer Service Supervisor, Aguatero Industries

Connor has made another post today on the OWP blog, like he said in his Twitter feed. He talks about Rachel Carson's book "Silent Spring," which I gather is about water contamination and pesticides. This is the second time that we've seen Carson's name pop up; if I have time in the next couple days, I think I might swing by the library and see if they have a copy of that book in stock.

Just put myself on the map. Don't know how involved I'll be in this, or if I'll bother applying for a job at Aguatero (apparently they only have one left - in sales/stock, and it says location North America... I noticed some of the other jobs didn't have a specified location, so I figure maybe it'll come back to bite me later - if/when we're required to move into the real world. Because, as you'll see from the map, I'm definitely not anywhere near North America), but I'm going to try and keep track Razz

Email that is likely in all new Aguatero emplyoyee inboxes:

Updates: May 24, 2010

We're going through an important time here at Aguatero Industries. We've recently hired many new team members and our expansion is looking to be quite impressive. There are a just a few reminders I'd like to present this week.

Firstly, be sure you have reviewed our candidates for the position of president of environmental and community affairs. You can access the voting page by going here and logging in. Voting will end at 5pm central time tonight. We will announce the the candidate to be hired on Friday.

Secondly, I continue to see people in our workplace drinking non-Aguatero products. This is unacceptable. Team members who continue to drink products from our competitors will be reprimanded.

Newly hired team members will begin their training this week. Training for Aguatero Industries is fairly non-traditional and involves problem solving and hypothetical situations. You will receive more information about this later in the week. Those who best complete the training will be better prepared for their work here.

Checking the team member center on our website is vital to the well-being of our organization. Please make sure you check it frequently.

Finally, I know there has been a lot of concern about the gulf oil spill. As of yet, we have not been affected by the spill. We must continue to direct attention away from our company to prevent federal and state investigations.

Thanks for your time, and keep on hydrating the world!
Lucinda Rodriguez

To add to Lucinda's email posted above. I just got this... I'm excited. I'm also wondering how the non-winners will be involved for the rest of the game (I have a feeling I won't be a winner, but my fingers are crossed).

Dear [swift360]:

Once again, thank you for applying at Aguatero Industries. Our staff have each had a say in our decision--and it was a tough one. We will be mailing our decision (via first-class mail) tomorrow. You should receive it within the week.

We appreciate your dedication to Aguatero Industries and hydrating the world.

Sincerely,
Lucinda Rodriguez

Connor Arter found some damaged microfiche and asked for help putting the pieces together. it don't look good for employees that do not toe the line.

The article is about president (or maybe vice) of environmental and community affairs who died at a treatment plant and the police believe there was not foul play and the poor guy was not aware of his surroundings bla bla bla and Amanda Rodriguez is sad and thinking about the victims family.

I'm doing some cut and paste to try and piece the article together, but I'm not exactly a wizard at this, so it might take me a while.

Edit: Okay, here's the full article as far as I've been able to read it.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
August 14/19 2009
Aguatero Worker Killed
Early last night the president for environmental and community affairs of Aguatero Industries was found dead in a water treatment plant near the Mississippi River.
Police continue to investigate the incident but believe no foul play was involved
"It appears that around all this large and heavy machinery the victim was simply not aware of his surroundings" said Police Commissioner Marshall
"The deceased appears to have suffered a great deal of trauma."
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
Linda(?) Rodriguez, the president and CEO of Aguatero Industries expressed sadness in a written statement today
"All of us are mourning the loss of our fellow colleague. We regret that our machinery may have caused his death and will be conducting an internal investigation of our own. For now our thoughts are with the victim's family."

So, apparently whoever gets the president job might have to watch their back...
