 		Good discovery. I'd been wondering about that - but then I wonder about everything.

Here's the thing. I think the Ministry need two sides of the coin to be able to flip it. Someone in the past, and someone from the present connected directly to them. Poeas is connected to Dyson, and I suspect they might think they can get her along side through "persuasive" methods if she comes into the office. This is why I'm very concerned about Claire travelling back to try to make contact with her parents via the machine.

You're all right about not being able to trust what the ministry says, which is why I classed them as unreliable witnesses. But the trouble is, they're so good at manipulation we can't tell what is the truth, a bluff or a double bluff. For all we know the stated aims of the project could be something entirely different and they WANT us to stop it!!

Whatever, Claire's in big danger, and V is alone in that cave. Is anyone in contact with Poeas? Can they throw her off the scent or something?

Personally, I'd like to get Poeas story. Why is she doing what she's doing and why she wants to set up a "true ministry." What is it she knows that we don't?

 		TY Dreamer for the chat log that has me Shocked Silly Poeas sent an out of the blue mail late yesterday. Replied politely, hoping to get some intel for Claire and us. imo Poeas' true motives are likely more clouded than her obvious, ambitious nature.

ETA: That Neil Gaiman quote doesn't bode well for V. Sad Am a Gaiman fan and he himself summerized The Sandman so:

 		A few things.

Aethalides has now commented on that picture of the curtains near the sleeper:

Claire has sent this to Amandel, Solicary and myself:

Did Vladimir (who is stronger at night?) somehow influence her to try to get to the Ministry and/or leave V alone?

Oh, I asked her if her car was broken down (and so couldn't get her to the Ministry), and she said, "No my car is working. just thirsty i think. Honey i am so confused. I keep forgetting everything".

Anyway, we have a decision to make, and we have to make it, like, now.

It comes down to this, as I see it:
  • Option 1: trust the Ministry, who say that if Tiphys lives, the Germans get access to nukes and time manipulation in WWII and bad things happen. Kill Tiphys.
  • Option 2: (same result as 1, but different reasoning) trust whoever said that if Tiphys doesn't die, V's (and Claire's!) parents won't meet and that V (and Claire!) will cease to exist. Kill Tiphys to keep our friends.
  • Option 3: trust Vlad and Poeas, who seem to want Tiphys to live. Keep Claire and V in the cave, and let what happens, happen.
  • Option 4: try to get Claire to the Ministry to use the machine to contact Annabell, risking her being caught & made to use the machine to kill Tiphys once her parentage is discovered.
  • Option 5: try to get Claire to the Ministry to destroy the machine.


Part of me wants to choose option 3, but I think that's boring, to be honest. I'd like to suggest option 4.

I'm asking Claire if she knows where the Ministry is & how long it would take her to get there, so we at least know that.

Any other votes for what to do? I don't think we have any more to go on (unless anyone has any "hidden secrets" and that Claire saying that phrase yesterday was alluding to something). I think it's time to make our choice.

ETA: just chatting with Claire now.

Sometimes, V disappears from her peripheral vision, but when she looks, she's there again.

Claire keeps forgetting stuff.

Edit 2: Claire also is unhappy with the idea of staying in the cave, and thinks she needs to get to the machine. She says, "It also gives us a bit more time, like we can decide at the last moment, instead of having to decide and then get the machine".

 		I messaged Poeas and offered my assistance to her directly. She replied:

Other options - destroy the machine. This will create its own ripple and affect the future, in turn affecting their contact with the past and hopefully stabilise the past to a norm and everything will be stable. However, this is a last resort as, once the machine is broken, it cannot be mended.
Finally, there is the matter of alternate realities being created. The MOA will have you believe that Germans would gain technology and time travel power will be made to all - rest assured, this will never happen.
Not again.

Up to you though - I'm not going to lie, it's a large risk.
There may be other ways, but we are running out of time.

What do I want? never to have been brought into this mess in the first place, but we have to live with the sins of our fathers...

This is a tough place to be in. I admit that I want Claire and V to be as far from that machine as possible. I believe that Poeas is working to stave off a worse 'now' than if Tiphys were to perish.

From what I interpret from the email is that the Germans already had their shot and were stopped.

If we could be absolutely certain that Claire could talk to Annabel safely, it would be a way of getting more information, but I am extremely dubious of going forward with that, since more and more eggs are being handed to Claire.

 		Poeas sent me the above email also. It's surprising subject is "Re: About Claire". Asked her WHY & about her NING posts.

Inner debated yesterday and would have suggested/voted Option 4 to Claire toward which she and Dreamer are leaning.

Major EDIT: A. posted an MOA blueprint and PW info. We may need to see an "acquisition" form. Will pass this now to Claire and reckon it's savvy that we familiarize ourselves with it on the NING. Is brainstorming on Claire's NING chat a good idea?

 		Another option:

We give the choice to Dyson. Whoever uses the machine communicates with him. Explains about the ministry and what our history records, then tells him what the ministry say will happen should he live. He is one of scientific brain and clever than all of us. He may be able to form a clearer picture and choose what happens with his life.



I'm not convinced by the ministry's comment that everything in time is cut and dried. There are so many references to chaos theory and game playing (and the Greek gods were seen as notorious game players) for the ministry to be able to 100% predict what changing the past will do.

 		Hi Dagada. Believe only someone with a "genealogy/DNA" link with Dyson can communicate with him directly, meaning allowing Poeas control over the machine. Not only is that risky imo but she also claims to be adamant about not using the machine for this.

We did learn 'tho in the Tiphys.doc that V's grandmother Cynthia Phanes [CP] would "influence Tiphys to end own life".

ETA: Jason just left an auto-responce at the MOA. Maybe it contains the needed PW info (the 8 digit code)? Dagada is an expert with the rune lingo. Smile

 		Hey you guys...

I also have been talking to Claire regularly on Facebook and haven't had much to say other than what you are all posting...until now..

I communicates with Poeas for Claire and received back the same email as a couple more people..

However, Claire also asked me to talk to A...hoping that we could get the Herald on her side...so I did...and this is the response I received...

 		WOW! Nice work sirpoins! Am on the run yet "Nice PRIME steak" sugests imo a prime number. 73939133 was Johan's "key" which he left for V. So that is my educated Laughing guess atm for the 8 digit code.

The Herald posted a "map" of the layout of the Ministry, I think it's an older type PC motherboard diagram but the text beneath was of interest.

Well freaked out
Received a phone call. Music was in the background, Londons burning. Someone stated my code name and said the machine needs to be got out.
I have the shakes and am not sure what to do....eeep.
EDIT- Just spoke to Herald who fancies a jaunt outside as it's far too hot, and suggests the sprinkler system would get everyone out the building.
Contacted by Poeas who suggests the prime is a good idea, but (obviously) Claire is in danger to go to the ministry. So, Fire alarm to get people out, prime to get the goods away. I don't think she knows the connection tween A and C. Who goes? Claire can, Poeas I think would....
