Gruss Vom Krampus

an excerpt from s7aee7:

Quote:
Found file: ~$S7A3E7~*$UPLINK_ESTABLISHED/run://GRUSS.VOM.KRAMPUS.sh
scp -p sp4d3s ssSPLAT22.34.12.99:/etc/.hide/grus.vom.krampus.sh.
ssh shizzireSPLATbabbage.x0l.nu
password: *******
ss@x0l#
ss@x0l#./grus.vom.krampus.sh & daemonizing process
attaching PID to process list #845153
ss@x0l:# export HISTFILE=/dev/null

search for gruss vom krampus turns up this information: http://sellin.com/Krampus.html

and this facebook account that was started in april, but I don't think it's in game (it might be, but i don't think so):

ETA: gruss vom krampus literally translates as greetings from krampus

I read some very harsh comments today of people who thought that Blackwell Briggs, Pegbox missing, CFG etc would be 100% real and who just got it. Especially that "Nokia" has to do with it, makes them furious. OMG, so much hate!

Quite a few Babbage files have been decrypted today. Everything's all up on the wiki at http://cfg.wikibruce.com/X0l.nu

I think at least one of these is yours, fanfan, so could you check we got it right?

well, they did seed tons of anarchist/anti-corporation websites with the blackwell-briggs leak only for them to find out that the cause they were rooting for (conspiracy for good) is really part of an arg run by an "evil" corporation

you know how grouchy anarchists can get Razz[/quote]

Bloody hell! That was a bad weekend to be off the grid!

I'm just about caught up now. Is there anything I can do?

Maybe try to find a way to calm down some of the worried and angry people without giving it all away and finding a way how to turn them into participans that still might enjoy it over the next months?

Quote:

Children craft, the finest dreams
'fore they know, reality
And we tell them, what they should
And we tell them, that its good
Then the live inside their dreams
And they stretch them at the seams
Till they lose their perfect shape
And their innocence deflates

So Give me all your dreams deferred
Count them like a flock of birds
One for sorrow
Two for joy
Three for a girl and
Four for a boy

sparrows never have a care
Destiny is in the air
Every song bird dares to dream
Improvising on a theme
Soon our babies lullabies
Wrapped on them a nest of lies
Kiss their cradle in the tree
Kiss their safety to the breeze

And give me all your dreams deferred
Count them like a flock of birds
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret never told

Lay your dreams out on the wire
Wonder who you will inspire
Dreamers have to take this chance
Won't be mad you dared to dance

So Give me all your dreams deferred
Count them like a flock of birds
Eight is a kiss and
Nine's a wish
Ten is a chance never to be missed

One for Sorrow
Two for joy
Three for girls
Four for boys
Five for Silver
Six for gold
seven for a secret never told
Eight's kiss
Nine's a wish
Ten is chance never to be missed

Give me all your dreams deferred
Count them like a flock of birds

in between both war and peace

Nice work, Shizzire. I posted some of the transcripts earlier, but you seem to have better ears Wink

I wonder what the significance of the spade symbols is. Perhaps they're a number code? If you count the number in each sequence, or something?

lyrics

interesting find regarding lyrics of Deferred Dream

Quote:
One for Sorrow
Two for joy
Three for girls
Four for boys
Five for Silver
Six for gold
seven for a secret never told
Eight's kiss
Nine's a wish
Ten is chance never to be missed

this portion of the lyrics is word for word the same as an old nursery rhyme with the exception of line ten which reads (and i think is fairly significant):

Quote:
Ten for a bird you must not miss

the nursery rhyme is a game in which you count how many magpies you see and the number determines your luck according to the lyrics

there is also a darker version:

Quote:
One for sorrow,
Two for luck; (varia mirth)
Three for a wedding,
Four for death; (varia birth)
Five for silver,
Six for gold;
Seven for a secret,
Not to be told;
Eight for heaven,
Nine for [hell]
And ten for the d[evi]l's own sell![1]

"Deferred Dream" is a Langston Hughes poem, but I don't think it has any symbolic meaning important to the game

I compared all my files with the ones you have in your Wiki, everything fits, nothing to add at the moment.

I'm in the same boat as fanfan but I thought I had this thing all figured out...maybe not lol. A couple of mine have been decrypted but when I check the forums, they've been posted already or are already in the wiki. Did I enter my ten for no reason?
