Using VisualizationSoftware's Spectrogram 11, I got some clearer-looking images than posted above. Or perhaps more complete/less squished.

Hope this helps, and wondering chicken/egg on this puzzle, since this is the route some examined w/ the 40khz.

[edit] made files less enormous.

I was just looking at the pictures above and had a thought. [spec] Doesn't picture 5 resemble the blurred image on the pin that Dr. House is wearing on the CMH site pic.

5 looks like a stylized fleur de lis to me.

2 looks like the same building shown in this image at deadpoems.com.

One of the images has been flipped horizontally, and the deadpoems.com image has been cropped, but other than that, they look like the same photo to me. (Or if not, at least photos of the same building, taken from the same angle - as if from the same photo shoot.)

This image looks oddly familiar too. Have we seen it somewhere else?

I agree with Karmic_Crimewave that 5 looks like a stylized fleur de lis.

Also, I just noticed that the Urban Hunt logo also looks similar to a stylized fleur de lis. Specifically, both of these are thinner than a traditional fleur de lis, and have a hooked top.

If there is a secret society involved in this (as has been discussed on other threads), could this be their logo?

Schnell-Davis makes a good point. This could be the symbol of a secret society.

And this ties in with the spec about secret societies, as the Knights Templar and the Priory of Sion both allegedly use the fleur de lis as a symbol of their organizations.

i got a couple messages from people who live near the hospital and considered crashing at one of their houses. while at cmh i tried to call the guy i think is closest, but i couldn't get a call completed -- i kept getting strange noises and interference. i managed to get a call through to my answering machine though, and recorded some of the noises.

Wait a minute - is the impression that this call really happened? I'm reading this whole thread in a hurry from a friend's laptop (I'm out-of-town), and have no access to IRC, so I'm not sure if he just used the above statement as a front for his audio files, or if he really made a call. I say this because I left Ron a message saying he could crash at my place. Then today, I got a random call from an unlisted number - that's the same thing that happened when I got the Puzzlecards call. I answered, but since I was in the middle of nowhere south carolina, I didn't get a good signal, and basically heard silence. I wonder if he tried to call me? If so, I'm gonna be pissed that the one weekend he comes through CMH is the one that I'm out of town...

Shocked Wow.

Okay, so to summarise we have...

1- Creepy hand (is it this? or is it just supposed to represent the "bloody hands"?)
2- Dead poems building (CMH?)
3- 40Hz gauge
4- The scariest looking person/thing in the history of the universe Shocked
5- Fleur de Lys
6- Goldmine hotel.

[SPEC]
- Perhaps this is how Ann Starling received her messages, through sounds transmitted to her at CMH that make images? And this is also how the Dream Projector works, somehow? I'm sure we could find a way to tie it all up with this.

Also, William Stauffer. I think he could prove to be very important now that we know he was the van survivor, if TT didn't get hold of him in the hospital that is. I'm definitely now leaning towards him being William S and B.S.

I'm just glad the hand only has five digits.

Just to see if I could find out more information about the Fleur de Lis design, I sent emails to Tara at GMH and Amanda with an attached file of the design. I asked them if they had ever seen this design. I will let you know if I get an answer.

Edited to add: I also sent a copy of the picture to Reed Singleton, hoping Ann may have drawn it.

If that is a "40Hz sensor' above, I took a look at a sonagram of that 40Hz sound file we got from UM.net last week. Maybe it's something, probably nothing, but it almost looks like a stereogram. Thanks to JC I can actually see those now, but it takes me a bit and I'm still not great at it. Maybe someone else who has a more refined skill at seeing them can say for sure.

I can see a number 2, but I have no idea what that could mean.

I was wondering when someone would notice that.

And, isn't that meter a guage between 40 and 50 but the number 44 is the obvious one?
