When I get a call from an unknown number way out of my area code, I always throw it at Google before I even check my voicemail. You'll avoid such red herrings by doing that.

Hi! I'm quite the lurker, total n00b to this forum.

But, maybe I missed it somewhere here, why do we think it's going to be rebooted with the pit cell phones?

There's really no reason to believe that the phones will be used again. There was no instruction or even hint to hang on to them (although having the accounts recharged is suspicious). At that point in the ARG the game was very small. Now that TRON is all over the place and the FL site has no doubt grown exponentially since then, what purpose could the handful of phones serve?

I'm not dismissing it...if I had a phone I would hang on to it and hope that it would be used again, I'm just saying that I really think that their part in all this is done.

I could be wrong...and actually hope that I am... 8^)

Okay! I didn't understand that the phones were "recharged" with minutes, I thought people were doing it on their own. Very cool. Can't wait...

I dunno i was under the impression the phones were picked up or turned in at the theater event long ago. wasn't it a stipulation to have the phones with you when you arrived?

The fact that the phones were recharged shows they know they are still there and are specifically keeping them alive.

There's really no reason to believe that the phones will not be used again. Whether they will be used next, who knows. But it's a safe bet they do indeed have a purpose yet to be served.

It definitely would be cool if you're right. I hope they didn't recharge them simply to call you and say, "hey, you gotta return that phone." 8^)

The PMs specifically told the people at the drops the phones were theirs to keep. I don't think 42E would want to go back on that, lest it create massive amounts of ill will. On the other side of things though, 42E isn't likely to keep the phones active just for the sake of throwing over $100 of budget on pointless freebies. Remember, the stuff you've been given as swag so far has served to keep you playing and for you to show off - which keeps you talking and propagating interest in Tron.

Exactly. As someone who has a phone from the drop, I was told specifically that the phone was mine and was hinted to me that it may become useful down the road.

I do google phone numbers when I get them. But to be honest, when it does become useful once again, I expect a phone call from my local area since that the number I had to call, not the area code the phone has with it.

I would also expect the FL crew to leave a voicemail. I can't keep this thing with me 24/7, nor do I want to. After I got it I was carrying it around religiously but lately I have gotten very lax with it. Now that it has been recharged I am carrying it around more often, but I am not about to bring it with me during workouts just in case they call.

Got a call this morning. According to the voicemail, someone's kid wore dirty jeans to school and his Dad needs to bring him uniform pants right away.

I am guessing there is no hidden meaning in this.

Hmmm.... wonder if 42 Entertainment's purposely trying to screw with us or if they're giving us some sort of sign that the viral's about to gear back up?

~sigh~ Guess even the digital world has gone P.C. (Hey, did I just make a pun?)
