It's just a cartoon creation, and I stated it may be off topic ...

However, if it is the moon on the site (viewed from Earth), then it's upside-down!

My point is with the SLUSHO! reference to Saturn's moon: http://www.almimas.com/index.htm

well i dont know anymore then u or anyone else but the cartoon moon as u call it i dont believe is the saturn moon cartoon i believe if it was this moon with that unique crater they would have detailed the crater that way and i dont believe the candy is connected to the moon of saturn nor slusho esp if u look up the candys info and even if connected to slusho i dont see it connected to rocket poppeteers like i said i dont know any more then the rest of u guys but my opinion is that it isnt connected what so ever

http://www.almimas.com/en

is the about us portion of the candy for anyone who wants to read it

but if im wrong which i suppose i could be im sorry guys this is just my opinion Smile Exclamation

Not totally off topic, but I think it's just a coincidence that the candy store has a similar background as http://www.slusho.jp/ ...

I'd agree with you in that I too think the similar background between these sites is totally a coincidence for several reasons.

Also, a quick Googling reveals several other food-commerce sites in the UAR region which mention and link to the Almimas site as a candy supplier including "ArabO" and "Ameinfo". I doubt JJ and BR have set up ghost sites in Arab nations to link to an old CLOVERFIELD viral site and pay it forward to SUPER 8.

Only so many letters in the alphabet, so a few words and names in very distant contexts are about to match up from time to time. But you're welcome to dial them up in Syria and ask if they're playing along. Very Happy

Yeah, the web services company listed as the creators of the site claim them as a client since 2003. Cloverfield wasn't even a sparkle in JJ's eye back then.

But hey, go ahead and call a Syrian company asking about their 'secret project' and be sure to mention 'military involvement' and 'train derailment'. I imagine DHS will be paying closer attention to you before long.

LOL!

Yeah, ... I was only pointing out that 'coincidence' has been playing a roll in viral marketing. We tear up one and a half minute videos (frame-by-frame); we check the "Who-is" and source code for websites; we zoom in on pictures then alter them to a point where they become unrecognizable ...

I didn't say the site was related ... I just think it's ironic.

BTW - I saw Cloverfield with "200 of my friends" (Due to the 'viral' I was able to win tickets to an early screening). Most of the people invited stopped following the viral during Ethan Haas; they knew me, but had no clue as to why I was wearing Slusho! gear.

(I didn't win the Slusho! commercial contest. I was disqualified for the "When Cloverfield Hit" contest as the judges thought I had used the Dharma logo - it was actually a toy I own, and I did use super 8 film in the creation of the video - I will not post my work here. It's listed under my profile.)

So far, I'm enjoying this campaign.

something or nothing?

There seems to be a mirrored affect from the fathers finger and a shadowed effect from the Rocket Pop. It shows up better with the polarity reversed:

Anybody?

Hmm, don't know what to make of that, if anything. Good eye for detail though, v!

Just something I noticed with this blown up image. It kind of reminds me of this clip from the trailer: http://super8.wikibruce.com/images/6/6b/Teaserframe-2084.jpg

I haven't had a chance to try it yet but was wondering if anyone had laid out all the odd images in the trailer and tried to put them together like a puzzle? Some of them look like the could line up top to bottom.

Yes, someone has.

Hey guys, trout me if this has already been said, but couldn't that planet be Jupiter? The large thing that at first glance I assumed to be a crater could be the great Red Spot.

It's generally assumed to that this game centers around the year 1979, right? Well in 1979 both Voyager I and II sent back the first time lapse visual of the Great Red Spot. So I think it a viable theory. I don't know how it would affect the game, but there you go. What do you guys think?
