I still haven't been able to get a consensus on who it is the STIES site clue is being directed to - us, as directly involved now that we've accessed remote view, or if the comment about posting/helping is aimed at an internal character from another internal character and we've intercepted it in an eavesdrop manner.

If it's internal character to character, then we have at least 2 to be considering: the one who put up the site with the remote view thing, and the one they're sending hidden messages to...at which point, the clue to stop posting publicly could be more literal: Unsub B is out there posting stuff out on some other format publicly and Unsub A is basically saying knock it off, here check this out...and provides the newspapers...and we just happen to intercept those too...

Which leads us to the problem. What do we do with them?

Scour them for clues. There's the website, the email, the recruiting address. The IG characters would have a better idea what to look for, obviously.

To the outsiders - us - the clue to *us* doesn't make sense, or seems sort of irrelevant, we're not posting pubicly anything IG...we're uninvoled in the tale, just trying to find a way into the whole game. It's just context that seems off to me if it's directed to the player and not an IG character.

If it's IG characters, given the remoteviewer and timeframes etc, what sort of online format might unsub A be referring to that B is posting publicly? To me, it would seem along the lines of old school newsgroups or bulletin boards. Any other possibilities?

The proof from STIES site is directly connected to the receipt of the newspaper printouts

interrupt: So I took a cue from Senjut and just sent an email to anyoneSPLATscariestthingieversaw.com and a note asking what proof and how can we help, included my astronaut name ...see what happens. If it's an autoresponder or catchall, it should send something back too right?

How I understand this is:

We access someone computer via RemoteView, so the computer is in it's present state of use (time and date are realtime);
The person using the computer was using a pdp-11 simulator to search some media that was in that format;
He found rscom8 and wrote a note to "Stop posting..." for a precise someone (the newspaper clues guy);
He probably haven't had the time to print it out (system was waiting for an ok click)and left for whatever reason;
He never got back to his computer because nothing changed yet and the computer have not been turn off.

I'm leaning to this relay being between two people, myself...so we should look for 2 characters somewhere.

The 'catch all' behavior for all possible emails is a behavior present in several mail servers. A person I knew had that available to them back in 1998, so it's been around a while. The problem with it is that it makes spammers think al of those email addys are valid, because they never get a bounce message.

it seams that my message in the page 47 has not been read,
so I will upload an exemple of my website controlpanel to explain what is hapenning with the email adresses
so all the email to XXXXXSPLATrocketpoppeteers.com ( xxxxx can be whatever you want ) will go directly to a specifique mail adress determined by the webmaster called the default webmail adress, as you can see in the pictures with a definition

Gotcha.

I now realize what's up. I actually had this confusion recently when I was getting replies to me c/o barmaidSPLATbarmaidsbrain.com which I had posted on the site, but I *thought* it was being redirected to a gmail account and I was never getting any email there from people who kept telling me they emailed me. I happened to see via cpanel that the webmail default for the site had usage showing, so checked it and there I discovered all the awaiting, unread emails. I finally learned the hard way to check that more often ;-p

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly... but the "mr. kruschchev" mentioned in the article is Chairman Nikita Kruschchev, political leader of the USSR in the early 1960s.

Somehow I don't see him as the other character in this secret coded conversation during the very tense height of the Cold War.

I went over the article about the nuclear testing and listened to the actual recorded video of the speech. There are a few very minor differences, but it could just be because of the particular transcript of the speech that was used by the pm..
Anyway, the following words did not match up with the live speech.
numbers (in the speech his says millions)
all of us (the newspaper say we, the speech says "all of us")
two (in our newspaper, the word two was omitted)

So that gives us.. "numbers, all of us, two"

Like I said, may just be due to the source of where they got the transcript from. But you can do a google and find both video and written transcripts.
Oh, and there was one section of the paper that I totally missed, I didn't realize it was visible, so there could possibly be more words.

re: Kennedy's speech — it's possible this game article quoted the prepared speech of the text, whereas audio/video recordings available online capture the delivered speech by the President.

As with any prepares speech including States of the Union, etc., there will always be minor verbal discrepancies between what's written and how it's said.

I assume you're quite right that the text variance here simply depends on source material, and may well have nothing to do with deliberate changes for the game.
