Good afternoon, fellow Nonchalants. On behalf of the newly-formed Nonchalant family known as the "NorthWest Seven," I greet you all and look forward to contributing to the Repository. I was "South," and I'm the only one in our group who posts on Unfiction.

Also the experience in that one labyrinthine place was AWESOME!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The part where we were all blindfolded was super-intense and really well-done. One of our party did receive the hand-kiss, like you guys did, and we were all really into that section. A couple of our party members were having trouble keeping straight faces through the look-into-each-other's-eyes bit, but in all I thought it was a tremendous experience, even if we were missing a member. (I doubled-up on the being-led-around-blindfolded segment)

I'll let you know once we've made our mix tape and our story.

Songs of Nonchalance

I'm interested in knowing what everyone's favorite "songs of nonchalance" are. By this I mean not so much the mix tape music and the like, but songs that you associate with the JI, the EPWA, Eva, the Savants, what have you.

I really only have three:

1. Don't Stop the Rock - Freestyle
2. Time Bomb - Beck (played at Eva's Memorial during the broadcast)
3. Gymnopedies 3 - Erik Satie

anyone else?

1: Gymnopedies 3 - Erik Satie (gives me goosebumps every time)
2: Don't Stop the Rock - Freestyle
3: the music in the JI induction center video

Source or serendipity?

So this weekend I was with friends and they showed me this new video game of the party variety. Goofy mini games, dancing, music beats, movie fixing, playing in traffic. Chaotic. Ridiculous.

Anyway, each player could pick an icon to represent them, goofy things like a lone sandal, a wig, a pair of underwear, an anvil. I picked a tooth with a hole in it. Not pristine but still: the obvious choice. What I didn't realize until after I picked it was that each icon had a nickname associated with it. "Captain Undies" for the underwear, for example.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The tooth's nickname: Hollowhead.

Heynow.

There has been talk of visiting Albany Bulb-- who is down to go? I am pretty free Saturday. Do any others want to meet there and poke around?

Gym. Egg.

If you want the specific version of Gymnopedie 3, info came up when they played the track at about midnight ... you are looking for Anne Queffélec's version.

I know at least one other person is doing the Egg Slap thing Saturday, maybe +3 ... so let's say 1pm at the starting point.
