Nonchalance at Come Out and Play festival, Brooklyn

http://radiononchalance.org/
http://comeoutandplay.org/2010_scoop.php

They're doing a weekend-long radio station through which festival participants can report on games going on. If you're in the area (being Park Slope, Brooklyn) you can tune in at 88.9 FM, or there's the magic internet.

Kinda wishing we could call in encouraging messages from the realm of Nonchalant San Francisco. Smile

(And if you've not heard of Come Out and Play, it's a weekend-long festival of pervasive gaming in New York. Sounds crazy fun, and I hope to go some year. http://comeoutandplay.org/)

I hope to get to COAP on Saturday or Sunday. I had registered to volunteer, but I had to cancel due to some work conflicts.

I have heard that bagsbee will be there on Saturday and EGo will be volunteering for sure. EGo has a record of volunteering or participating at all COAP and has the T-shirts to show for it!

I know it will be great so I hope anyone in the NYC general area will attend. The weather looks promising and it is always a truly fun time for everyone.

Radio Nonchalance on your iPhone
if you have an iPhone, which isn't very Nonchalant but whatever

Steps to listen to Radio Nonchalance on your iPhone:

  1. Download the free app FStream: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fstream/id289892007?mt=8
  2. Add a channel under Favorites: Name: Radio Nonchalance / URL: http://radiononchalance.org/radiononchalance.pls / Encoding: UTF8
  3. Give it a whirl. I find when the phone goes asleep, it kills the stream, so that's the downside.

Awesome find!

Listening to the stream right now, and Commander 14 is conducting an interview. Very cool stuff.

boombox

That boombox looks so familiar....

I hope they didn't decide to jettison it because they decided to jettison some kind of experience.

They didn't. I met a similar boombox today! Very Happy While there are a lot of similarities between them, there are also noticeable differences.

(I am posting here because I did not want to start a new topic for a minor announcement.)

From this recent KQED's Forum show, I heard that Radio Nonchalance is broadcasting events of San Jose's Art, Technology and Digital Culture Biennial.
