The stationary fire you see in the background (00:00:40 + 11-33 frames) is, I believe, the point of initial impact between the truck and the engine. Note in the shot before this, the camera was filming the engine derail from the same side of the track as this view, having moved forward from the collision point. So in this shot we're now seeing the wreckage behind that engine as it derails, causing the pile up, and I think they're passing the point of the truck collision

From what I can see, the 'blue explosion' you mention appears to be an electrical arc or discharge from something failing underneath the distant boxcar (@ 40 sec. + 20 frames). Mini arc/lightning bolts shoot out of something for just a moment, then diminishing sparks trail out from it.

My question now is: what is that device, since a typical freight car wouldn't have its own power source/generator/gizmo underneath it unless it was perhaps refrigerated. What surprises me (and I didn't catch it before) is the odd-looking way this car explodes (see attached image).

Just after the electronic arc detonates, bright glowing beams shine out from within the freight car, the most visible one through the door gap and also underneath its edge. After that a fiery explosion literally wrinkles the side panels of the car away from the gap with tremendous force and quickly (in the span of 4 frames!).

What could have been in that car that would require some electrical power (shield?), and have detonated in the car on impact like that? Did the electrical "failure" of the initial car impact unleash some other "force" contained within it? And might this possibly relate to the ending scene where the downed power lines arc against the boxcar, "unleashing" whatever's inside it busting out?

Now I'm beginning to wonder if the train was transporting more than one "subject" — eight? — but perhaps only one survives the wreck? This would make the driver's supposed "sacrifice" to destroy the Scariest Things he ever saw 7/8ths successful.

I thought the same thing when i saw the caps before i read your statement gefenm11, but theres only 5 of the caps and 2 of them look the same (super8, and it arrives caps)

could be some kind of cryptography, or maybe they just used a template and altered it slightly, im hoping it is some kind of clue
