I just want to know: why is holding your ground the better deal against a supernatural creature that has no known weaknesses?

Especially when other SM-related stories seem to show that running away, if not solving your problems, can add years to your life expectancy?

It's not been tested. Nigh-on every Slenderblog shows someone running away, and yet he catches up to them. Not quickly, not slowly, he just plods towards you. He's like death and taxes; but like death, he only needs to appear once.

Yet, almost nothing says "fight Slendy on your terms." Mr. Strahm is building defences that may provide a solution to the problem; what if his defences do work? Nobody has tried shooting him before, so his Gun Apparatus could yet sting Slendy, if not kill them.

It seemed like it was implied in MH and in JaF that guns weren't really worth anything for self defense. Then again, every SlenderBlog is different. I'm surprised that someone hasn't suggested that it was the common cold that did him in in the end, yet. 9_9

Well if that did happen I think everyone would get pissed at the author, not matter how good the writing was up till that point.

And there was one blog where a gun was used. It was in In My Head.

I have a better theory.

Slender Man has a nut allergy, so everymanHYBRID's advice (nuts are good for you! =DDD) is actually great... it's not that ludicrous as a theory, is it?

Also, StickTheFigure; you're saying that if the author allows his character to even live, he'd become a pariah? I'd welcome a writer that allowed their character to live, myself.

No, I was saying that in reference to him dying as the common cold killing him. If he were to die from something so simple, the author would be flamed out.

I did a quick glance and noticed no one seems to have drawn the obvious conclusion from the recent blog entries...

1. Lizzie tells Strahm that he's encountered The Slender Man before, as a child. Slender Man was in Strahm's room for Christ's sake. And Strahm couldn't remember...similar to Jay in Marble Hornets, being unable to remember his work with Alex on the film project.

And two...

"I ran faster than I had ever run in my life. Every single horrible memory from my childhood came flooding back to me all at once; every ounce of fear for the dark that I had ever felt in my life, twelve years of it, hitting me like a tidal wave. I remembered things that I didn't even know had happened, remembered things that I had tried to repress my entire life. I ran and I ran and I ran and I turned every corner and hurdled myself over every obstacle until something tripped me. I rolled and made sure my gun was up and-"

I bolded the important part.

Strahm remembers his encounters with The Slender Man from his childhood. He somehow repressed the trauma from his previous encounters and forgot all about Slendy.

We noticed it, we just didn't point it out because as you said, it's obvious.

A new update, and things have, yet again, taken a turn for the weird. Zeke's writing now feels a little crazy when he's describing our tall friend, but otherwise he sounds completely together. Where will it go from here?

Inside the Labyrinth was pretty awesome, though. And unlike GhostK, I would love Strahm to stay on, rather then having the Chief take over the blog (how could you work that into the plot without making a stretch?); rather, I'd like the Chief and Mr. Strahm run side-by-side blogs, with one stopping at one point and the other announcing the death of the other.

Well, I wasn't serious about wanting the chief to take over (honestly, there's been no character development on the chief anyway) but all of the other characters seem to have been killed off.

Well, except Conagham. Laughing

Really lost empathy for Strahm somewhere along the way. Not sure why. He's so acerbic, I guess. Sad

Ffff-- Deimos, you had me scared there for a second.

I guess I lied when I blathered about losing empathy. XD This is still entertaining. That last post blew my mind. Probably the most lucid sighting EVER.

Update!

The more and more things go along, the more hope I get for Zeke.

Of course, the worse I'll feel when he gets killed too.
