Missing Boy
Missing Boy

Quote:
kosmopol Yes, it is not Elliot, like on his brow - the hair are missing on Elliot. And multipsychoapopheniosis gave us great sample: this face fragment does fit just in every face.

But: search for real boy is going on.

Should we send out a missing boy flyer and advertise on milk cartens?

It could be him if it was distorted, but i dont think that the boys face matters at all (mainly because the trailer was shot individually from the movie months proir to production and that they still dont have a set cast).[/quote]

As I've mentioned earlier, I don't think it's a "real" boy... It looks like a doll. Like a Cabbage Patch Kid or something.

As for the face: yeah, not much chance it's Elliott.

 OOG: Superman 2?

Doesn't multipsychoapopheniosis's 1st screen shot look like he's trapped with the other villains from Superman 2?

Well, it would probably be someone they knew or had previously under contract so they could use this pic with no contracts etc given that no cast has been hired for the trailer..
How about a childhood pic of JJ or SS?

It comes out next summer... that would give them roughly about 14-16 months to cast, film, edit, and market the film.

IT's already in the final stages of editing, I can assure you. There was way too much production value in the trailer. lol

Very Happy

it's safe to say that super8 is in the final stages of production, or very close to it. movies are usually complete before trailers are made, i could almost bet my astronaut name on it. Wink

Lol, it's not a Cabbage Patch doll and it's certainly not Elliot.

In most cases that's true. But marketing strategies have started to evolve over the past decade. Super 8 (from what we've been told) is in a surprisingly early stage of production considering its release date. It's not even known if shooting has started yet.
You may be right, but I wouldn't bet the house on it. This guy can crank out a finished product fairly quickly (meaning even if he hasn't started filming, he can still get it all done by the scheduled release date). And he has the clout to make a trailer despite having nothing in the can yet.

Many films have trailers made before films are complete. One such case is the rob zombie Halloween remake. In several interviews he states that he had nothing to do with trailer for the film,Some trailers use stock footage or things that wont be in film.Just like many times the trailers for new films which are not complete often use theme songs from other fims. This happens alot in horror films.
So my point is that i dont think the trailer proves where they are with filming. But again this is my opinion. And i dont know any more then you guys:)

Actually you just lost your name then. Smile

As he did with STAR TREK before, Abrams had this teaser trailer for SUPER 8 created specifically as a teaser to be shown in theaters a year before the feature's release.

This trailer contains NO production footage, as indeed production won't start until later this summer or fall.

Normally you'd be right about most trailers, but JJ doesn't do things normally. Cool
