FYI, the lou2.net link at the top of dana's blog should be able to withstand the /. effect.

I think if we go back to slashdot, we are just asking for someone to do something exactly like that. Last time we submitted a story, there were no axons and few ways to harass our players. That didn't keep them from trying , through creating all kinds of websites full of false information to try to either capitalize on the traffic or throw folks off track.
Now, they would have a list of EXACTLY when and where they need to call us -- and you don't think some slashbot zealot isn't going to try to prank us to express their outrage over Microsoft, however indirectly?
I don't think this is a good idea.

Can a few of us perhaps donate mirror space?

Another view I think we need help. And, I don't think we should allow fear of the prankster/ hacker/troubled people prevent us from getting the story about this game out to others who may want to play along with us.
Yes, people may clutter up the forums, post without searching, try to hack the site and otherwise be annoying. But the moderators and site administrators have already proven themselves more than capable of handling whatever may arise.
To me, a part of what this community is all about is welcoming and assisting new players. I know the warm welcome and patient support I received when I first stumbled upon this site is the reason that I have stayed.

Would be nice if they weren't all in the US.
There are a lot of us Europeans who would love to be able to contribute, but obviously can't as all the action is US-based.

How about asking for help on community sites for cities near the cold axoims?
I.e. on their sports club forums (football / american football / hockey / basketball / baseball / rugby / cricket / netball / idiot-whacking).
Or look for IT / gamer communties near to these places. They'd be possibility to help.
Maybe there are some "retro" usergroups near these places who could be asked?

Thanks vpisteve. I edited the post with link to dana's blog.
I also just emailed to Dana asking her to put up a "what to do/say at
an axon" link close to the "current live axons" link to help limit traffic
coming into the forums. I requested a quick "yeah or nay" response
so let's see what she says.
I agree with sherpa on this one. Anyone dedicated enough will find and
join us so there is no reason to link directly here unless neccessary.
Also, the greeting of this post could be altered for posting in a number of
different places.

Mirrors I am already hosting a mirror of the spreadsheet:
http://www.ariock.org/darkforge/princess2-coords.html
I have a 30 GB download limit....for a 0.5 MB file...that is just 6000 pageviews? Assuming that no one downloads the XLS file too. heh.
Any suggestions? apart from a fatter pipe?

OK, since it looks like this might happen, here's another mirror:
http://www.argn.com/ilbmirrors/princess2-coords.html
Feel free to add that to anything posted, as that server should be able to take anything thrown at it.
