Ok. So, while we are waiting for the next move and are playing around with stuff, has anyone tried pumping this tune thru an oscilloscope to see what pattern emerges? They did have those in 1979...

Just a thought..
Was hoping for a new clue today since its been 18 days since the last one and it was 18 days from the first to second as well..
Tap Tap....hello...!!!

i toyed with oscilloscope and wasn't able to get much information. tried to plot the wave in X-Y mode, hoping to see some image... with no luck.

just an idea: is it possible that its a return signal from a radar (sonar)?

Code

I'm pretty sure this is some numbers code we will need later down the road or this will tie in with some other clue. Until then I feel like I'm just beating my head against a wall. Bang Head On to something else.

Thats cool what you did and all, but the problem still comes out to be what could be encoded when its specificily the goldenration sequence. Anyway I loved the we must party one....Maybe we can get something else fathers day or 4th of july, and if not comic con isnt long away Cool

Yeah it doesn't exactly prove anything, I know. Even if it did prove that a vocoder was used on the the waveform, I have not found one single method for de-vocoding a vocoded waveform (at least not this type of vocoded waveform. some mobile devices have a way of encrypting and decrypting using handset vocoders).

It has got me thinking, though that maybe clues exists right in front of our noses and we just haven't explored them yet. I started to wonder if there was software for the PDP-11 which could encrypt/decrypt using a vocoder. I found a few things:

First I looked at Soundstream, which was not actually software for the PDP-11 but was a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) that connected to the PDP-11. The software interface was actually called DAP (Digital Audio Processor). It was a proprietary software to Soundstream and I could not find an emulator for it.

Than I found that there was actually musical software for the PDP-11 system called Music-11. I think there may have also been vocoding campabilities in it.

Music-11 was ported to C and UNIX as software called CSound, which does have vocoding (don't know if it has ability to decrypt vocoded sound though)

Anyway, this is what I'm currently working on. I'll post more if I find anything conclusive.

ETA: So further research, shall I say, totally blew my mind. It seems that CSound probably had the ability to de-vocode through a function called vpvoc. The problem here is that CSound is UNIX based and well I don't know shit when it comes to UNIX.

If anyone is feeling brave, here is a download link to CSound (open source for Linux) and some information about pvoc and vpvoc (vocoder functions).

I wonder what a Phi Gesture would look like...
Would that be a nasty kind of figure or rather a spooky "Ringu" kind of black haired child moving on her spine...
Hmmmmm, I couldn't really decide which one I'd prefer...
Wink

I made a gesture to a very bad driver on the freeway last week, but I don't think it was "Phi". Laughing
