Hey guys, been lurking for a few days, finally joining the conversation. What I'm wondering is what is that inconveniently (or conveniently) placed horizontal wooden-looking thing across the left third of the picture? It looks like it could be blocking view of something important... >=(

The "something may have reactivated" could be refering to us tinkering with the PDP-11 simulator via remoteaccess. I think the hat was clearly placed that way so we will need to recognize it later. The erased part on the brown box looks like a side speaker on an old tape/record player, i'm pretty sure my grand mother had something like this a while ago. It's probably just a lazy photoshop mistake. too late need sleep...

i dont know why everybody is speculating so much again into every small pixel or shadow in that new printout

by flipping the picture we are able to read "sold" on the yellow post-it sticker >>> so we get the number 25801

we get a proof that person A communicates with person B over the pdp-11 (new text with the updated simulator-desktop printout)

Person A proofs to Person B that he has the old Super8 Film Material in his hands

Person B answers to this proof inside the same new document

The Super8 Filmmaterial has Audio - proof by the two lines on the right of the projection

Person A is using an super8 projector (not overhead) - look at the dust flakes on the top of the projection - the film material is moving "from top to bottom" so to speak

the red hat is just an reference to spielberg again - think about all the red stuff spielberg always has in his movies (for e.g. the girl with the red cloak in schindlers list)

we have a set of negatives/positives on top of the projection - when flipped something like 2 people holding hands can be seen

we have standard pushpins and an red colored pencil on that glass desktop


do we have to wait again weeks for a new clue?

when do we get the connection to the soundfile?

or the rocketpoppincooper?

The "SOLD" note got me thinking that maybe whoever took the picture is a seller of random items. (Think of a modern day ebay or craigslist seller.) Maybe putting out ads in local papers or the Penny Press. I think he/she has a collection of random items either through yard/estate sales, swap meets or relatives (living or deceased). Part of this collection is the hat of course and now part of the STIES film. He/she sold the red hat and slapped the note on the box as a reminder not to sell it to anyone else. That also explains the packaging supplies. I mean the bubble wrap could have came out of the box, and the scissors would have been used to open the box. But why have packaging tape when opening the box?

Long story short, he/she is sending the hat w/pin (and maybe something else??) to Beckley, WV.
