Today we hit up Michael's, and bought a bunch of goodies and accessories. Googly eyes, yarn, buttons, and a hot glue gun. I work at a Summer Camp and they have a pre-school class, my plan is to check out what supplies I can use for the puppet and bring it home.

I showed my mom the video (Kickstart) and she wants to play along! This will be interesting...

Excited to see Jim and Tanner doing another project this year. It's awesome how much support they have already gotten on their kickstarter page! I'll definitely be supporting this game - and you should too.

Just a little meta fun:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you look at the page source at www.mustlovesocks.com you'll find this:
input type="hidden" name="tinag" value="yet"

which is pretty funny by itself, but if you type http://www.mustlovesocks.com/tinag you'll see this text "Daniel Grace:poop". Daniel Grace is a programmer from Huntsville, AL and judging by his twitter stream, I'm guessing he is working behind the scenes on this project. Good luck everyone!

I don't know to what extent this is related, but it seems we have a new sock puppet character, compliments of @BigAndAwesome on Twitter:

http://crispysroom.com/extracrispy/index.php

In case anyone doesn't know, this echoes the "Subservient Chicken" promotion by Burger King, except that it's a sock puppet with a headset. Razz

I'm actually surprised they were able to pull this off by using YouTube.

Judging by the dates of some the posts on twitter, I'd say it is just a funny coincidence.

Tim didn't tweet about super great ideas until June 14th and it wasn't until the 21st when we all found out sock puppets were involved.

Somehow, I don't think sock!Crispy is a character in Socks, Inc. XD

I thought it was a funny coincidence, too - Sock Puppets are IN! YAY! - but I think it *is* just a coincidence. But an awesome (haha) one...

Hmmm... http://www.mustlovesocks.com/tinag does not seem to exist any more. Maybe they took it down to keep behind the curtain stuff...behind the curtain.

I found a delightfully funky ball of wool and some brand new knee high socks with lurex thread at the local op shop.

Going sock shopping today with the boyfrand :3

Heading to Old Navy then Gap then DSW as they are all within walking distance of each other. Then driving over to Dadeland Mall. We are both so excited for today!

EDIT:
My brother's ex-girlfriend Valerie drove us over to a nearby strip mall.

Our first stop was Old Navy, and the store attendant gave me a weird look when I inquired about knee long colorful socks. They didn't have any, so we shopped a little since I had a $25 gift card.

We then headed to Famous Footwear that had a small selection of socks. We were in a rush, since all of us were STARVING, so I settled with a plain, boring, beige sock.

At the Diner we discussed the back stories of our socks and the voices we would incorporate in the videos. It was a blast to flesh out our avatars.

After lunch, we walked to Michaels to buy a few decorations (felt, buttons, yarn), when we stumbled upon an assortment of crazy fun knee length socks.

With a bunch of new materials including a hot glue gun (a steal at $2.50), our socks, buttons, googly eyes, multi colored felts, we are ready to begin making our "avatars!"

Just a couple of the supplies

Here is mine, I finished her up yesterday. Will probably add a few more minor details. I have no idea yet what I will name her or what voice she will have.
