It's definitely just "Greene" so hang in there. There's a long pause, so say it clearly a couple of times (with a break between). Other than than, pray to the gods of payphones. Smile

I'm not going to be able to get out of work early this time around, so this one's all yours. Oh well, maybe next week.

Wasn't able to light up 8:19 at 32.776608 -96.807302, as someone was on the phone in an involved conversation, will try tomorrow (but I've got a meeting that might conflict with it on both Wed and Thursday), so might not be until Friday until I can get it, unless someone else gets it.

If they try, it's the only phone banks in the bus station, and it'll be the one farthest away from the door that they're near.

edit: That's a DALLAS area axon. -- AD

That's too bad man, I was looking forward to not being the only guy answering the phone...

I might be making a run to chickasaw this weekend if it's necessary, if you're interested in taking a trip drop me a pm.

Also, I'm trying to get a hold of my mother to answer the thin_kinkle LA phone. I'm not sure that I gave her enough notice, but I'll find out in a couple hours...

Couldn't find 08:59-09:09 again.
Tried the Sheraton: No go
Scoped out the community college for 3 phones, but I got there too late.

Will try again tomorrow.

Yeah just like weephun said team boise got 2 of the 6 axons for apartment_squirrels.
One thing we had to do though is arrange to answer a payphone inside pizza hut at 9:49MDT which was a problem because pizza hut opens at 10:00 or even 11:00.
Props to weephun for making the call to the manager to explain the situation and get him to kindly let me in. Also props to pizza hut for having area 51: site 4 for me to play while i was waiting for the call Razz

The .wav is live so I wont give you my synopsis of it. Pretty interesting to see the managers face at pizza hut as he listened to the one file... he had no idea what anything meant Razz

I may have missed it, but has there been in spec on why there are different numbers of phones required for each wave group? This would seem to me to be a big clue to something.

Trout me if you must.

You'll love this. The block of 12 axons at Union Station in DC: NOT THE SAME PHONE EACH TIME. Because we are polite we will not use the bad words that such behavior on the part of Melissa merits. As the calls are all 2 minutes apart, we would need at least 7 people to cover all the phone banks we know about, and that excludes any phones in the restaurants. Not happening. Worse, it seems like many of these calls were not intended to be answered, at least this time, just to be sure this effort was as much of a waste of time as possible.

The guys think (but it was moving so quick it's hard to be sure) that 4 calls came in on a bank of phones by Au Bon Pain. However, some did not ring long enough to get answered. So while Cortana heard 4 ring, he only got one axon. Mike_Was heard one more possible, but not at the bank of phones he was watching. That leaves 7 that we don't even know where they are ringing. This of course means that all the phone banks we "cleared" last week are not clear at all. This sucks.

Also, we are up to 2 calls dumped by Melissa today. (6:43 and 10:05) The phone at 6:43 has dumped us 3 of the last 4 attempts. The 10:05 has been reliable until now. This also sucks. Way to encourage new axon hunters to stay with it, Melissa. "Hey, you wanna less than 50% chance of getting an axon? Try this one!" That's a real help in recruiting new axon hunters.

One possibility is that they grouped things according to the emails they received about who will definitely be where.
P.S. notice twenty_percent requires 2/10? Cute.

I got the 10:11 Axon for Slingback today. The answer is definitely GREENE.

Kamal and Sophia are talking. I'm paraphrasing as best as I can recall.

K: He's not even counting the cards himself. He's using some type of corneal..

S: Do you think I look better in slingbacks or Italian flats? I bet Aiden you'd figure out how he did the casino thing.

K: What? You're kidding. If I were him, I'd be less worried about his business thing and spend more time with you.

S: Oh, c'mon. It was only a bet. I am letting you pick the shoes afterall. Slingbacks or Italian flats?

K: Slingbacks. Definitely slingbacks.

There was a bit more, but it really didn't say much else. I'll edit if anything else pops into my head.

Once again, Boise ID, 3 up .. 3 down. We're now working on contacting guys in Moscow (which would help with the thin_kinkle issue also) and Utah (might even have my mom go snag one). Yah, good thing the Pizza Hut manager was a Halo fan, he let Mad Cow in the back way to answer the 8:49PDT call even though the store doesn't open until 10:00PDT. Thanks Justin!!!

big_gloves

Here's a very rough transcript of big_gloves:

---

Cop: Turn with your hands out away from your side! You have the right to remain silent!

Auditor (?): (what do you mean (?)) ...counterfeiting?

Cop: Counterfeiting? Not counterfeiting! Assault! We have a warrant - armed and dangerous!

Jersey: This was supposed to be a simple audit. You're wanted for assault?

Auditor: I... (accountant?)

woman: Enviro Department. Everybody must vacate the premises!

Cop: Police! Down on the ground!!

Jersey: ??

woman: I have a report of a hazardous chemical contamination.

Cop: Nobody leaves until we've secured the suspect.

.... somthing garbled ...

AC agent: Animal Control. So which one of you guys (has the failed) honey badger (breeding operation)?

Auditor: I don't even have a dog.

Cop: What the hell was that? (Yells)

-- confusion ensues -- (alarms go off left and right)
