Following up on my previous post, perhaps the cards each contain a segment of GPS coordinates. I recall correctly, 42 E did this for The Dark Knight at comic con a few years back by posting a site with a countdown clock and GPS coordinates. What other codes/addresses have four segments?

This is also a possibility. But remember, GPS uses degrees, minutes, and seconds.

So I'm thinking we'd need two more cards. If there are two more, I'm guessing Tron and Space Paranoids.

I don't know if anyone else has said this yet, as I'm still slowly going through the thread, but I just got my postcard today and I'm all the way in New York. Mine is Vice Squad, so there's really nothing new to report other than yes, people on the East coast do/will get their postcards.

Thanks for the information!

I don't check the board for one freaking day...I stayed home from work today to do some needed stuff and got the ArcWars (NYC here).

To everyone who doesn't have a blacklight, you can see the dots clearly on the black strip with a little white light, no problem- they stand out against the background.

Sigh. I suppose I'll check my local arcade- as it happens, my local arcade was also the drop for one of the phones way back (I live in chinatown). Out of curiosity, anyone else in the Manhattan area and get ArcWars as well? I have my doubts that they'd invest as much as all those arcade machines would cost, but I suppose it's worth checking into.

Intriguing that this time I got an actual stamp rather than a stamps.com stamp.

I also see the lines on the image-side. Pattern goes as follows: 144121122211411211 this excludes the irregular spacing. The 211 repeats. Familiar? How about 1441 22 411, assuming 211 should be a space (remember the chest plate?)

What day was your postcard mailed out on? Two days ago, like the ones received in California?

Re: "Now playing at your local arcade"
Can't get that phrase out of my head ...

Does anyone who has received a postcard have an arcade nearby? If so, care to stop by and see if any new games have arrived?

Just got back from my local arcade, which was a drop point for the phone in Los Angeles. Nothing new, sadly.

I assume June 29th. The stamp is unevenly applied and only says J 29.

Heading to the arcade now.

Thanks for checking, I figured it was a long shot, but you never know!

You might have just saved Broklynite a trip ... I hope.

The closest arcade to me is Coney Island, and "closest" is stretching it alot. Chinatown was going to be my next stop, but since you're already on the case, good luck.

Data Enoding Techniques
Just some random browsing

http://www.rhyshaden.com/encoding.htm

Could there be some kind of message in 7-bit ASCI or UTF-7 on the strip?

That's a good idea!

This also makes me think about those barcodes on the front of the postcards (the side with the game images) Could they be traced and then aligned somehow?

Also, just to clarify, are barcodes being seen on all the postcards received so far? Are they the same color or different colors? Do they appear in the same place?

What about the images themselves? Do they appear differently under various sources of light (not just black lights)?

OMG guys, there was a chick there in a FLYNN LIVES shirt and she game me a milkshake- do you think it means something?

Seriously though, total bust. No new machines, nobody wearing any revealing shirts. Everyone was just focused on playing their fighting games (unless you're sitting in a cabinet, you do NOT sit at an arcade) or DDR varients. The trip merely served to remind me of my age. To confirm- Chinatown Arcade in Chinatown, Manhattan, New York seems a dead end.

Well, it was a long shot anyway, let's face it.

Should have mentioned, but I did bring the postcard with me, just in case. Was holding it by the bottom and when I came home I noticed that the black strip had discolored from my thumb. Just a warning to everyone.
