This may seem like a stupid question, and I'm sure it's been probably mentioned before, but are we sure all the scans we are trying to merge together have the same orientation?

Got an Arc Wars one in Jersey today. The postmark is strange. No town or zip code, it just says 5pm 29, 2010. Polar bear stamp, as well. Two strange wear marks on the back kinda look like lip prints.

Me and my son got two postcards, and upon scanning them, I'm unable to bring out the boxes. I'm using Gimp, and after playing with all the saturation and color balance tools, I can't get the boxes to show up.

Any tips? If not, I'll try and take a photo with the blacklight on the postcards, using the macro setting.

Got 3 cards, today for me and my sons.
I overlaid them and taped them together, put them in a document protector and using a UV light, marked the outside of the corners of the black area and any pixels using one color per card. Then I put the document protector in the scanner and the result was the attached. I tried to be as accurate as possible in marking the pixels. I really hoped doing them all-at-once would remove any positional ambiguity, but it didn't really. It's like the scale is slightly different in the originals.

time for an observation: not much * 100 % new* material has been added in a day or so. (just about everything has just been people posting that they got their postcards or restatements of code theories that have already been posted multiple times.) Im thinking we will have to wait for next wednesday (the usual flynn lives update date) for anymore major developments...on their side as well as ours. Anyone else agree?

If for nothing more than a good time killer, would someone like to go back over the thread and work up a count of how many of each game cards we've had reported? How about a map of the cards, with the game titles?

I know *some* people have lots of energy while we have so little to work with.

The good news is that our friends in the UK/Europe mostly reported postmark dates earlier (nearly a week) before many US cards were marked.

This would imply that E42 were hoping to get cards in players' mailboxes at roughly the same time this week — instead of simply hoping they arrive before Comic-Con in three weeks. We can only hope that their meaning is also revealed before then.

I wonder who will win the Longest Distance Postcard Award from the mapping project?

Reporting in to say I just got an ArcWars postcard - blacklight dots are the same as the other AW cards, and haven't noticed anything yet that you guys haven't already.

EDIT: The list of ENCOM games is mentioned in the wiki, so I wonder if A: this is just the first wave of the puzzle and there's a second or third batch of postcards going to be shipped out that make sense/complete the dots or B: if there's something significant about these four games, i.e. why were these chosen and not any of the other seven listed on ENCOM's site?

heres an idea that hasnt been tried....what if there is a web address hidden in the game descriptions..you know...like a w in one word...a w in another...and another w in another make up www......and the stripe comes into play as a visual key to unlock that website?
