Series is a bit better after seeing 5 & 6. With the tape analysis video I felt like they did a big no-no. They should acknowledge Slenderman but not directly show Slenderman in previous videos. The acting is horrible. It just feels so forced and not natural. Nobody acts like that unless they are socially awkward. The people that made this could make their casual dialogue a bit better.

I agree with everything in this. The tape analysis just tells me they think we're to stupid to spot the things our self and their conversations sound way too forced. I thought they were ment to be heaps good friends? maybe they should take a note out of everymanHYBRID's book, but not the whole damn book like they've done with MH

EDIT: cant spell

I too have been following this series, and whilst it has felt like Marble Hornets all over again, I think that it has promise. Especially with their tasty Slender-suit. Though, they really killed it for me with the tape analysis. It was stating what the viewer already knew whilst further making the main character even more monotonous then he already is. Realising Slendy's presence would have been better done at the beginning of a new entry.

IDK, I liked the tape analysis. It at least shows that the main character isn't blind. Also it gets right to the point unlike EMH, which gave of five episodes of lies. With EMH they are still in denial. On the other hand, this man is at least aware. Makes it seem realistic to me.

yea i agree. the tape analysis definitely makes it more realistic. remember that when he viewed these tapes, it was in memory of his friend. not to find a freaky man stalking his friend. to the casual viewer who knows nothing about slenderman, they would not catch him in the videos. except for the really obvious ones Razz.

and, the tape analysis makes it more realistic also because it makes the main character seem as though he really needs help, and to try and prove he isnt crazy

I like the analysis as it shows that, unlike Jay, he specifically is listing the threat for those who may have missed it and, unlike Jay, rather than just show the videos, show that he acknowledges SOMEONE is there. For the most part, Jay just posted videos but never directly said, "This guy totally was spying on my friends."

Seems stilted and awkward that he wouldn't notice SM for so long and then spend a single entry just noting the occasions when he pops up, though. Jay didn't need to come right out and tell us that. MH gives its viewers more credit to figure things out on their own. Seems like more fun in the end when it's done that way.

Let's not justify what is obviously poor planning and amateurish execution by coming up with after-the-fact logic to fill in the holes. It seems pretty clear to me that Noah's apparent ignorance of SM is not a Weirdness Censor, but a piece of bad writing. And that the bad acting is not an attempt at verisimilitude, but, um... just... bad acting. While it may indeed be true that most people are bad actors, most people are NOT acting when they're hanging out in front of their friends (well, okay, sociologically speaking, we are ALL acting whenever we are in front of ANYONE, but we are not aware of our performance in the same way we are when we perform a play or act in a film).

I'll keep one eye on this one, cuz I miss MH. But it's a stinker, guys. Just because someone craps on a plate and tells you it's Slenderman, doesn't mean you gotta treat it like Slenderman. A turd is still a turd. Even a faceless, pseudopodal turd.

Oh my god, it's so baaaaad. But in a funny way. My favorite so far is either:
1: The "cat scare" in #5, where the AC unit makes him jump, then he pretty much turns around, and SLENDERMAN!
~OR~
2: #6, Noah leaves the camera running and just leaves his friend alone in his house to go to the store, which I know I do when my BFF is in town and I haven't seen him in months and there's nobody else around to hang out with (well, almost nobody as we soon see). So Milo picks up the camera, he's lookin' around, things seem alright, a little visual tearing, a little loss of frames, it's no big deal, this looks like a cool pla-SUDDDENLY NO WIFIN IN THE CLUB!
As I think about it, #6 really is my favorite. He just looks around the room for a little bit, then suddenly a jump cut to FOCUSING ON SLENDERMAN. Very subtle film making, guys.

Oh, speaking of film making... The constant "It's so boring here. Boring boring boring. Fishing is so boring." stuff in #3. The conversation about how things here have changed, haven't changed, whatever... I had a revelation as I was watching these scenes: Are these guys playing out the movie that Alex was making? This sounds a lot like the actual student film "Marble Hornets" to me so far. I'm betting Noah needs to find out if Milo visited any old girlfriends while he was in town, gonna find more tapes at her hunting camp, or whatever.

Although a blatant copy, its not bad at all. The acting is alright imo, but I think that slendy shows up to often.

Noah's going to NY, but will Slendy follow?

Wow. Ususally, funerals are held 3-5 days after one's death...

Well it's possible there was a longer police investigation and they preserved the body on cold storage for that time, or he was cremated and his ashes are now put in the ground.

But yea that is a HUGE time gap...

Oh yeah...I just assumed he was already six feet under...this whole family is really weird, huh? Milo was pill-popping and paranoid, Noah's clueless as hell, and the rest of the family takes a month and a half to put a funeral together.

Don't try to justify it, ladies and gentlemen. Let these boys clean up their own mess.
