"Hey Vinny, seen any tall and thin men recently? Just a curious question." Razz

Is there really a way to ask them subtly?

And on a side note, I'm still pondering how they can't see the - - - video.

No-one asked during that during tha latest session as far as I'm aware.

At any rate, got back a response about books from Jeff. Nothing really noteworthy in the message, but it's nice to have contact with them. Hee. (this is my first ARG I've been involved innnnn...~)

I'm fairly sure they admitted that they posted it themselves, as a "counter-troll" to our comments about the videos they couldn't see. The scenes within it are real, but they pieced together a video to make it seem like a mystery video and gave it cryptic stuff.
They openly admitted it in the Ustream.

If we're needing to ask them certain plot-driving questions, we probably need to do it more subtly. Trick them into answering things... which is hard, given how everyone likes to shout at the same time at them, and it means they miss responding to some things!

THIS. Thank you. I felt like not a lot got done during the last live chat because it felt like everyone just screaming at the top of their lungs, hoping to be heard. Maybe next time we could organize questions that need to be asked, and maybe keep it a little more focused?

Also, I'm uploading the pictures now. Smile

Anyone else think EMH need its own board on Unfiction? It's getting a bit cramped and messy doing all the discussion in one thread. And it's clearly a serious enough ARG to be deserving of its own board.

Warning: longish entry ahead. Photos will be linked, rather than directly posted, to save load time.

Okay, so as we all saw, a Google Maps search for the coordinates took us here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=N+40+18+18.6,+W+74+41+5.82&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=48.77566,113.818359&ie=UTF8&ll=40.304952,-74.684436&spn=0.005776,0.013894&t=h&z=17

Take a look at this map to get an idea of main places I'm talking about: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=N+40+18+18.6,+W+74+41+5.82&daddr=County+Rd+533%2FQuaker+Rd+to:County+Rd+533%2FQuakerbridge+Rd+to:Delaware+and+Raritan+Canal+State+Park+Trail+to:40.304976,-74.682677&hl=en&geocode=FQ8CZwId6mWM-w%3BFaQOZwId9HiM-w%3BFbD_ZgId5WeM-w%3BFVD1ZgIdQFWM-w%3B&mra=mi&mrcr=3&mrsp=4&sz=16&dirflg=w&sll=40.305336,-74.686904&sspn=0.010915,0.027788&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16

In looking at the map linked above, our coordinates are A, we parked at B, and C, D, and E will be referenced below.

Our biggest problem is that, if these were indeed coordinates, they were not written in the normal format. Most of the time, you'll find it in minutes and seconds. So, where Google Maps brought is us approximately N 40 18' 18.6, W 74 41' 5.82". Obviously that is not what was written on the papers, so we explored a bit to try to find other options.

As mentioned above, we parked where the map says B. Apparently we were at the D&R Canal State Park. There was a weird obelisk that my travel companion got very excited about, but it was just something about George Washington. We walked down a trail, which didn't look much like the trail from their video, hahah. Pretty much confirmed to me that this wasn't where they went hiking.

We came out here, which put us right across from A on the map above. Here is where Google Maps showed us upon searching - that little parking area with the broken fence. So, there's A on the map. Our coordinates, in theory.

The map shows us that the position is somewhere behind the guardrail, so behind the guardrail I went. I will take this time to point out that I am not very outdoors-y, and I only did this because you guys are so awesome. So there. I found some random stuff that didn't look very important at first, and what I called a tire shrine. More of the tire shrine here, here, and here. I really thought I had found something important, since it was kind of creepy and random, but I poked around the tire shrine for quite some time and didn't find anything that seemed to stand out.

On my way back out, I looked more closely at the randomly scattered stuff, and noticed a creepy trash bag that I was afraid to touch, a weird concrete thing, an abandoned pair of sunglasses, and a pink bag that I concluded was full of dog poo. Nothing stood out as something important to take, though it was all readily visible from the parking area. The tire shrine was not visible from the parking area.

Wondering if we had perhaps transcribed the coordinates wrong, we began adventuring to see if we could find another close area. We wondered if maybe it was supposed to be N 40 18' 31', W 74 41' 09" or something like that. The decimal placements on the notes are really odd. Anyway, the rest of what we saw seemed viable as places they could have meant, and came up with coordinates close to what we had.

First we came across approximately where C is on the linked map, which was this weird little one-room house looking thing with stairs. I tried to take a picture through the window, and though it didn't come out well, you can sort of see that it's part of a geographical study. Looked like seismograph equipment... something to measure ground tremors. Could be important? As you can see on the map, it was fairly close to our point A.

We continued along a trail towards point D, and a deer ran out right in front of us which was super cool. If you look back at the map, you can see the bridge we crossed under on the way to point D. There was some mysterious graffiti - lots and lots, but nothing that directly connected to EMH or our slender friend. Though we did get attacked by some pigeons.

We got as far as point D, and decided we weren't going to find anything else on the trail. We returned to point A, where I got some better pictures of the broken fence and the clearing further behind it. We decided to walk back along the main road, which just FYI, has NO SHOULDER OR SIDEWALK. We make such sacrifices for you people. Razz On the walk back I got REALLY excited because I found a CD on the side of the road, though it looked so scratched up that it'd never play. My hopes were dashed when I got home and discovered that Bobby Valentin, the name on the CD, is the name of a Puerto Rican salsa musician. While I'm sure he's great, I doubt he has to do with EMH.

Before we left to return home, my travel companion had the brilliant idea to check out a back road she had seen on the way in. It ran right along the other side of the canal we had been walking on, behind the trail, if that makes sense. That brought us to approximately point E on the linked map. Most of the houses looked to be in use, if a little worse for the wear, but at the end of the little back road we found a really weird house. It looked like someone lived there... someone who was a hoarder. There was what looked like rusted farm equipment, safety cones, and other random crap strewn all around the front of the house. Even more strange than that was that, right next to the trail, sat an old rusted car that probably hadn't been used for a while.

My travel companion wanted me to jump out and take pictures, but at this point I was really freaked - as overrun as the house was, it still gave the impression of someone living there, and I really didn't want the owner to catch me snapping pictures of their property uninvited. Call me crazy, but I was really scared. The pictures of the creepy car are taken from inside our car, hahah. I wish I had gotten a picture of the weird house, but I was like jumping out of my skin at this point, for no real reason at all.

Both of us were really hot, tired, and sunburned at this point, so we left after finding the weird house and car.

So... responses? Thoughts? Feedback? While we didn't find anything that stood out as something to find - no notes, no drawings, no Slendy dolls - there were a lot of weird findings that could be chalked up to something.

Overall, it was a LOT of fun, and if nothing else, I got to see a deer up close. Very Happy I'm glad I went, even though we didn't directly find anything.

What do you guys think? Anyone else going to try to head out and see if they can do better than me? If not, what's our next step with the coordinates? They obviously have a purpose.

Well... I'm glad I didn't go. That would have totally sucked to spend all that time and gas money to find pretty much nothing of immediate importance.

Thank you SO much for doing this though!

The only thing that struck me as odd is that the sunglasses immediately remind me of Vinnie -- wasn't he wearing them fairly often in the early videos?

Aside from that, I'm glad that you didn't start snapping pictures of the hoarder's house. Some people are just crazy, that might have gotten you into some real trouble!

Anyways, thanks so much for taking the time to explore and then to upload and explain all of these pictures! It looks like a really lovely area regardless of whether or not anything jumps out as being EMH-related. Sounds like a nice adventure!

eta: The Bobby Valentin(e) CD looks like it could have been a great lead. Too bad it was a flop!

Am I the only one who thinks the bag may reference the old Slender Mythos? Where organs are put in plastic bags?

I thought that to. If this was actually set up by the EMH crew and isn't random garbage like I think it is then...wow. These people would be amazing.

What if the EH crew did set up something, but a park ranger or a friendly (or not so friendly) person came up and thought what ever they set up was trash.
That would suck.
