I'm with you on why they might have chosen GMT (it's easy to figure out what the current GMT time is from anywhere) - I'm just looking to find out whether anyone's given HLM a good going over during the times on the calendar when it is that time GMT. I've only checked it when it was within those "best times to spot rare fish" time frames PDT.

The photo Senjut referenced is located (and does seem new--I don't recall it before, so maybe our boy is back from the holiday and we'll get more)

It's not new, been there since the first time I went through the site shortly after it's discovery.

i'm sure it has been mentioned, but i cant find it in the posts…

has anyone tried to descramble "hooklineandminker" to see if we could find any clues? what about Josh Minker? Maybe its nothing and could lead us in the wrong path, but maybe we could get some useful information if something turns up.

Re: Time at HLM web site

I just posted a comment at HLM for the first time, and of course it says it's awaiting moderation.

But when posting it, I looked at the time it recorded for my comment, and it's 7 hours off from my local time (PDT).

So the site is in GMT, which is kind of interesting, because I definitely haven't tried going to the site during the times on the calendar in GMT.

Has anyone else? Those end up being awkward times for me to give it a try. The next time would be 1:45 am to me (about 5 1/2 hours from now), and the time after that will be 2:01 pm tomorrow (and I'll be at work).

Im in the U.K and have also posted a comment on HLM when I posted the time recorded was only an hour off my local time (GMT)

Also if you look at the horse clock on the CL post that is an hour ahead from the time stated as posted....(its probably nothing but a coincidence on that occasion)

Thought I should mention that the times listed on the "Best Time to Spot Rare Fish!" calendars look very much like tidal charts to me. Most coastal places on Earth have 4 tides per day, though. 2 high and 2 low. So my guess is that the calendar lists either both low tides or both high tides on some coastal region.

Also, I say some coastal region because no 2 coastal regions have the same tidal chart.

I bet that we could figure out what coastal region these calendars refer to based on the times and dates. I've tried using http://www.saltwatertides.com/ to see the tidal charts of Virginia (West Virginia is landlocked and has no beaches) and Boston (JM tried to charter a boat in Boston) for the month of July and they don't match the calendar on HLM.

Not sure if it will be at all significant but it may be worth looking into more.

Oh, and both calendars have now been transferred to the wiki if anyone needs it for reference purposes. July is still a bit incomplete and I think I may have goofed on the moon phases. Thanks to Nhjm449 for helping me get the formatting right.

I noticed that on the STIES print picture the monkey on the hat is the facing other way compared to the picture from the Craigslist Estate Sale.
It's not mirrored, because it is on the same side of the hat.

I searched if someone already noticed this but didn't find it.
If someone already mentioned it. Sorry

It's all good, but the topic has been discussed in great length on the STIES new print out thread since this post: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=714418#714418

Also, your images do not match horizontally. If you look at the ribbons on the hat, you'll see that one needs to be flipped to match the other, which would put the monkey pin facing the same way, but on a different side of the bow. That's common for a brooch since you can un-pin it and re-pin it elsewhere.

So, please, enjoy a fishy breakfast: Trout Smile

Off to work!

Yes, They have been awaiting moderation before being posted. Been over a week now.

Interesting to note.. There is a reply from a girl named Meena.. She sounds like a friend of Josh's and she is the only one with a picture by her name. I would assume that in order for her to be able to do this, she must be registered at that site.. which none of us other posters have an option to do.

Lol Slow your roll guys. . . Meena is me. The only reason the photo showed up is because I have a gravatar (http://en.gravatar.com/) and wordpress uses gravatars if they're available. :] Sorry to debunk this hopeful lead!

Lol I'm starting to understand why they call these games ARGS, they're so frustrating that all you want to do is go "ARRRRGGGGGGGGGGG"!!!

I left a new comment on the new post, but it is still awaiting moderation, meaning that of course, Josh had approved all of the previous comments before posting. He must be on now!! If only there were a way we could just talk to him. Confused
