A lot of trout grilling this 4th of July weekend! Leave some room for the hot dogs and burgers, newbies. Smile

I don't know how relevant this is, but if you upload the expcnv file to audacity, put it at 22050Hz, and the last little bit, the "silence" at the end, if you amplify that some, enough to see the wavelengths, you can hear 3 beeps

at first i only heard 2, then i put on some headphones and heard 3, you can't hear them unless you amplify and lower the Hz as they're at roughly .2 intervals, i heard them at 16000Hz and 22050Hz (some default intervals)

Edit: If you add in Noise Removal to the mix, then the beeps turn into a ringing. Noise Remove the whole file and you get less "Notes" but you can still hear them, the whole file, tho, has the ringing in it, and the "note" before the final one, where some are saying the left is different then the right, well, the right doesn't have a "note" after the removal of the background noise

I can't see anyone responded to this. Can anyone else here the "3 beeps"?

Probably wasn't needed to be talked about, it could easily be artifacts of the recording process. Just tried the process again and couldn't replicate the 3 beeps at the end, but i still got a ringing of sorts. I say it's possibly not related now cause it took 4x amplifies of 60 to get the wave to appear to "see" the beep, and 10x to hear the ringing, that's an aweful lot of amplifying to hide something imo

BRAIN (A.S. braegen)

The find thing about this update is: now we can follow a communication between two characters, which makes the story more vital. I wonder, how it is connected to Braegen14...

Perhaps the playing of the tones is what has 'reactivated' something?

Interesting idea, sound as activator of something. Of a brain perhaps (braegen)?

This sound could be a sound experiment for the stimulation of the brain!

I know, it's a LOT to read ... I scanned through it.
When using "BRAIN (A.S. braegen)" - without quotes - in a Google search, I came across a forum from 2001: http://everything2.com/title/brain
Which then lead to:

Yes, there's like 100 search results on this page... are you directing us to a specific result or just listing keyword search finds?

Putting STIES, Braegen14 and HNL together.

an observation..

The tones are all played in time.. meaning the interval between the notes is equal. This requires either a well trained musician or some type of tempo guide ala metronome.
The last tone seems to bend in the middle so as to almost be 2 tones... as if whomever or whatever was playing them got yanked away right at the end of this 'message" which could explaun that strange sound at the end..

I have already posted some of this information on the HookLineandMinker.com Thread. Not trying to duplicate information but I thought my speculation here might help the folks working on the Braegen14 Soundfile to figure out the sounds origin.

Electrocommunication

Electric fish can use electricity as a communicative device, much as humans use auditory signals. Using its electric organ, the fish produces an electric organ discharge (EOD), which is broadcast through the surrounding water and received by other fish in the environment. These other fish detect the signals and process various aspects of the signal to determine its significance. While some progress has been made to identify and characterize different signals and their meanings, decoding electrocomminicative "fish speak" is a difficult process, and much remains to be discovered. Each species of electric fish varies its EOD differently to communicate different cues.

EOD Variation

Fish EODs vary according to many factors, including signal type, frequency, duration, and structure. Different combinations of these factors produce signals with different meanings.

Pulse and Wave: Some fish produce short bursts of communicative electric signal called "pulses," and others produce longer signals called "waves" also called "tones" (Hopkins 1972). Pulse discharges are "brief with respect to the period between discharges" and have variable frequency (Hopkins 1972). Wave or tone signals have discharges nearly equal in length to the period between discharges, and relatively stable frequency (Hopkins 1972). Individuals of a single species produce either wave signals or pulse signals, but not both.

(This information was gathered from the link below) http://www.bio.davidson.edu/people/midorcas/animalphysiology/websites/2003/Wilson/Communication.htm

For a complete review of my theory, please see the HLM thread for more details!

Cheers

This morning the site had: P.O. Box listed and highlighted ...
The post was dated May 14, 2010.
Now it's gone. And there's a whole crapload of stuff highlighted, and NO P.O. Box listed.
?!?!

Alas, I know you probably don't believe a word I say.

 A little break, please ...

Look, dude, that is uncalled for.

I didn't imagine it.
I have a LOT going on in my life, and the only escape I have is these games.
Due to (whatever) I can not play video games; I don't watch TV; and I can't ride RollerCoasters anymore ... I was a record holder at one time.

From here on out ... I will post the DIRECT links and/or create PDFs of my findings, and if they are pulled, I will have back-up.

When I find something, it is either sent to me to take a look at, or it's just typing in random sh!t (and, if it is random, I make that clear!).

I don't want to be the one that makes "The Find!" ... I just want to play along.
I've been criticized for my CRYPTIC posts for the past 30years. It's only now that I'm being "chastised" for them.

In my writings, I'm a humorist, and there's a lot to be said for this. It keeps me fed and my diapers changed. My Officemax gig pays for my Med; and as a self employed writer (with issues) I have to find some way to pass my time.

However, I find it kinda freaky that we like to play Catfight! with each other.

peace

It's not a question of believing you, we just can't replicate what you found. Many of your finds tend to be search-based and yield search-results... but that's not always a precise method because keyword trends can change.

I can only suggest then when you post a link like that, you preview your post first and jump the link you offer to see if you get the same results both times. If so, that will avoid confusion and the vaguaries of search engine 'thinking'. But if you don't get the same results when you test it, you'll know we won't either and can revise your post.

i'll be honest with you, without doing anything with the Braegen14 audio file i think it matches up fairly well with the audio (the chatter) in the movie trailer. that last crescendo, like the last 3 notes seems to me to line up with the last bit of chatter on the trailer concluding with 'oh my god' and then the wreck (they both cut out in a whoosh). i'm kind of wondering if we're hearing possibly what the 'it' is hearing, like pings in sonar.......just a thought
