My introduction. Hi.
My name is Jesse and I live i Stockholm, Sweden.
Back in 2007-2008 i sort of followed the Cloverfield ARG (although I didn't know what an ARG was back then.). I became like obessed with it and Cloverfield is my favorite movie.
And some time ago I heard about a possible Clover prequel/sequel and started to follow the ARG for Super 8.
So, that's basically it.

Hello hello!
I'm Merc (or Muffin, whichever you prefer), and I've been part of UF since 2007...though the vast majority of that time was spent either passively reading ARGs or being away.
I came here during the initial rush of 1-18-08 excitement, and stuck with the Cloverfield ARG for a long time, even though it ended up being nothing to talk about. Really, no loose ends tied up or anything. Annoying.
I then took part in a few player-made ARGs that were really good, like Transition Village II (my favorite ever) and the Joshua AI project. Good times.
I was one of the leading contributors for a fan-made (and honestly, far better than the official) LOST ARG...until the PM had to close it down due to real-world concerns
I've been out of the loop for a while, and the Super 8 teaser has me right back into ARG-ing.
Edit: I would also like to note that I am extremely cautious about over-analyzing things. I think all us fans of Mister Grumpypants can recall the "hair demon" and "IT'S HUGE! IT'S A LION!"
Ah, back in the days when we thought it could be anything from a giant lion to Voltron to Cthulhu to Godzilla

Back for more! Hi Everyone!
You've probably seen my avatar a few times now, so i'll post my intro.
I'd never heard about an ARG before but really wanted to see Cloverfield. Anything about NY i'll go see and to have a monster tearing through midtown was a great idea.
A few friends and family members came with me and we were intrigued by the ending. So, i googled it when i got home and came across the unfiction unforums. I stayed up all night reading ALL the threads and posts for Cloverfield... that was just after the movie came out. Almost a half a year's worth of text! I wanted some more and got hooked immediately on Jamie and Teddy, then the cool manga (thank you kosmopol for the translations !!)
Needless to say - i love this stuff. Luckily, i was able to see the Super 8 trailer during the Iron Man 2 previews and thoughts of clovie came pouring back. I'm just happy to be in the swing of things, not just reading about it afterwards.

Hi all, I'm a student from New Zealand
I've heard of a few ARGs before (halo, cloverfield, tron) but this is the first one I've been able to follow from the start.
Love old Spielberg films, like games, so yeah... here I am...

Welcome to all the new players, even our coelacanth recipient. Just please review the topics, use the search function and look at the stickied resources before diving into a new topic we covered long ago.
That's all we ask. Really.

I've been following for awhile. But I'm a ninja player, lurking in the shadows. Since everything i've "found" was trumped by the all knowing forum search. So this is my first and probably last post at least until I find something original or can actually contribute something new. Most the chatter of noobs like me seems to be people asking "did you try this" or "what about this". Why not just try it and keep from clouding the forums?
but anyway... 24/m/AR <--- (haha haven't done asl since days of chat rooms)

Greetings,
I've been a lurker here for a few years now, I first discovered the world of Alternate Reality Gaming during the viral marketing campaign for a Nine Inch Nails album release, lurked around and "observered" but didn't actively participate in the cloverfield ARG.
The Super8 ARG is my first attempt at contributing and participating, some of you may have seen my guest posts with the same username.
I'm in Anchorage, AK and have always been intrigued by the psychological puzzles presented by most ARGs so this is right up my alley

The name's Lew and I live near Chicago, Illinois. Been Lurking since the Cloverfield days... I'm probably not going to bring anything of value to the table. I'm just a lowly Crane Operator, some of you guys impress the hell out of me! Thanks for letting me tag along!!

Welcome to the newest players joining in.
And Victor, there's nothing "lowly" about a crane operator. Perhaps you'll be the one to spot a prime clue hidden in the noise, pluck it up out of the confusion, and drop it into the forum to amaze one and all!

If I'm not mistaken, crane operator is one of the highest job positions in the world...
Just below airplane pilot and astronaut.
