Re: Josh in England.
Or not?

Is it possible that those fins on the bg of HLM are just a coincidental trick of the light? Or did Josh pick that fish specifically because of the difference in these spines to hide something? What do you guys think?

Instead of using an actual English perch, I think what they did is photoshopped a yellow perch knowing the red fins and odd spines would be even more apparent. I think this was a clue to lead us to england, which you guys have already started looking into. I'd say this reinforces the potential England trailhead, but who knows!

Nice find on the correct fish morrison!

I still think it is photoshopped a bit. It looks to me like the fish was placed in a background, all of the edges are blurry and the rear fin looks like it may have been erased/reshaped to look like it was swimming. Just my opinion though.

English are villains. :)

IMHO the fish england connection is a bit farfetched.

Forgive me but I'm still a noob. What does IMHO mean?

And I agree. The English are only the villains in American movies. Star Wars etc. Wink

OT:

... Err..Worst example you could pick:

Darth Vader = James Earl Jones (voice) = American,
Obi Wan Kenobi = Sir Alec Guinness = English...

..... Surely you mean Germans (Die Hard, Gold Finger) Wink

English redfin perch

Great find,

Haven't tried attaching an image yet--perhaps it'll work, but as has been noted earlier, there's been spec that Josh's image was PS, and I believe the mention was that the white portion appears to extend from the fin onto the top of the fish. Could be a possible reflection of a flash from a camera, but does look to be altered somewhat, IMHO.

Sounds like you might have a firewall with caching enabled.

Re: 2 things

Oh the PS front... I agree the "black/white" fins at the back of the dorsal fin appear to be edited...

additional the eye seems to have a very hard and unnatural ring around it ... could be nothing ...

Has anybody considered trying to bring the background into focus a little more ... Just a thought ...

Edit:

When you zoom in on the dorsal fin there is an obvious difference in the pixel consistency between the black section and the rest of the fish ...

I'm not an expert, and I dont know why there would be a difference .. but it is there...

The eye looks like the moon on popeteers- must be a connection- it all seems connected to the lunar cycles- tides, astronouts....nothing to really say, just throwing it out there.

To me the eye looks a little oblong... see attached

I nearly thought you were going to say "I can tell by the pixels, and having seen quite a few shop's in my day"

Also, earlier I posted that the overlapping times occured on July tenth but going back and checking, I see that it actually happens on the 11th. So I'm back to thinking this is Cape Cod. I'm moving the discussion back to the Tide Chart thread, though.
